As the father of a 7 month old baby, I have found that bath time is not always the most fun part of the day, well that is until I ran across the Munchkin Inflatable Duck bath. Since purchasing this bath, I have found bath time to be much easier for me and a lot more fun for my son.
The Munchkin Inflatable Duck bath fits nicely into a normal size tub when fully inflated. Its dimensions are 31 X 19 inches (78 x 48 cm). It comes with a water temperature safety sensor mounted in the bottom, non-slip bathing bottom and a suction cup on the bottom of the outside to keep the bath from sliding around in the bathtub.
As stated above, there were way too many advantages to this bath to list in the little section they gave, so I will try to list them here without leaving any out. I will start with the ones I have already mentioned but I think deserve a second call to attention.
The water temperature safety sensor mounted in the bottom of the bathing area ensures that the water is not to hot for the baby before placing him/her into it. The non-slip bathing area bottom keeps your baby from slipping and sliding recklessly around in the bath while bathing and playing with his/her toys. The suction cup on the bottom of the duck keeps your baby safe while bathing and provides a method of storing the duck between usages and/or to hang to allow for drying before deflation. In the bottom of the bathing area there is a drain plug that allows an easy method of draining the bath, or you can drain it by tipping it over since it is so light. Since the duck is filled with air, if your baby is to tip forward, back or to the sides he/she will fall into a nice soft cushion instead of the hard surface of a normal bathtub. The tail of the duck provides a nice contoured area for the baby to lay his/her head on if they want to lay back in the bath, and it also provides a nice stable area to wash the baby's head on. The beak of the duck will quack a few times for you each time you squeeze it to provide a little entertainment for your baby while he/she is bathing. The duck inflates in two sections. The main body of the duck inflates as one entire section, and the bottom of the bathing area inflates as another. This allows you to inflate the body of the tub as hard as you want to and still inflate the bottom to suit your baby. It also allows for faster deflation of the duck. The duck is perfect for taking on overnight trips. It folds up to be easily packed inside luggage, and can be easily re-inflated one minute or less.
The Munchkin Inflatable Duck bath has really made a difference for me and my son when taking baths. I found this bath on one of my travels to the United States, but have not been able to find it here in England. I purchased it at Wal-Mart for $8.99 and have found it on internet stores for as low as $13.99 and at E-bay for as little as $1.00. I would highly recommend this product to any parents whose baby is able to sit up but still to small for the big bath.
