Rocking your world this month.....

Advantages: Good CD, lots of good articles and reviews.
Disadvantages: Slightly more expensive than some music magazines(still quite cheap though).

Metal Hammer is one of my favourite music magazines at the moment. I dont buy it that often as I my bank balance is virtually non existant, but those issues that I have bought were definitely worth the £3.10. Although it only concentrates on rock m ...

Metal Hammer is value for money

Advantages: Value for money, free CD
Disadvantages: Lack of pull out posters

Metalhammer is a monthly release magazine for all metalheads. It usually comes out near the end of the month at priced £3.10. Definitely worth the cost with a free CD with each issue. It has the usual layout of a magazine. A news section at the front s ...

Advantages: Good read as it talks about underground bands. aswel as the mainstream
Disadvantages: No posters

Lousy, but still better than Kerrang

Advantages: can be funny, reasonably well written, covers a range of rock/metal styles
Disadvantages: Feels childish, clearly a rather cynical music-industry marketing tool aimed at youngsters

Much like Kerrang magazine, Metal Hammer began its life as an endearing and reliable rock/metal music magazine, albeit one that was monthly rather than fortnightly as is the case with Kerrang, but as with Kerrang it underwent a dramatic format change in t ...

Metal Hammer

Advantages: Good, fairly balanced, coverage
Disadvantages:

OK, so it's a silly name, but the content more than makes up for it - this is one of the few magazines where I'll buy a CD based on a review, and where more than 50% of the features interest me enough, and are sufficiently well written, to keep me reading ...
