OK quality mode is great for recording things like bike riding and things that don't move very fast. But when you record things that tend to go faster than 15mph then the camera can keep up with it and it goes into a blur or somtimes the lense can't see it because it is going to fast. One good thing about this is that you can record for about 15 minutes at one time.
GOOD quality mode is the best mode on the camera as it uses 3.1 mega pixels. In this mode you can record things like F1 car races and skiing, basicly just things that go more than 15mph. Also in this mode you can capture things in more detail. But when recording inside thing tend to go black so you can't see a thing. The other dissadvantage with this mode is that it can only record for a maximum of about 5 minutes.
NIGHT mode is when you can record things in a darker surrounding and it comes out in good colour. This is also a good mode for recording inside as things don't go into a orange/ red blur anymore. But you can't record things at a high speed. Like the OK mode, when you do you just end up with a coloured blur!
When taking pictures with the DV3000 you have the same options as the video recorder. You can chose OK, GOOD or NIGHT mode. The apperance of these modes are exsactly the same as in Video mode. You can also zoom in on things when using the camera
The Zoom itself is ok for looking at things about 3ft away from yourself. When you zoom in the picture quality stays the same but as I said it can't zoom in very far. Another Problem with the zoom mode is that you can't zoom in while you are recording a Video. You can only soom in at the start of it!
When using normal battries they last for about 30 minutes to about 1 hour. I have never tried using rechargable battries although i have been told that they do last for longer.
The control pannel inside the camera is very easy to function. you have nine buttons; Record/Play, Self timer/up, Video/camera, Play/Pause, Stop, Menu/no, Delete/Clear Screen, Quailty/Down, Night mode/Sound. Then on the top of the camera you have three more buttons; On/Off, Zoom in/out, Set/Capture.
Other features are that it has; Digital Video, DSC and PC camera 3.1 Mega Pixels hardware resolution Audio / Video out for TV Easy-to-use controls and colour TFT 1.5" LCD Smallest, Lightweight and compact design Speaker Self-Timer Indicator Microphone Webcam (unable to use as a microphone for the computer) SD/MMC card support
The System Requirements for the PC; Pentium 166 MHz proccessor or higher Microsoft Windows 98SE / Me / 2000 / XP Avaliable USB port Super VGA card and colour moitor CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive At least 64 MB RAM 200MB available HD space
The price of this camera is about £50 to £60 in the shops but on ebay or second hand you could get it for one pound! I got mine off ebay, brand new for £15!
Overall I think this is a great camera just for messing about with but if you want it for serious things like making a music video or somthing of the like you are just better off getting a better camera
Advantages: price is good, quality is excellent, can be taken anywear Disadvantages: earlier model, softwear not the best
I wanted a video camera, and expected to be getting one that was big, bulky and cost me an arm and a leg. Then this little fella came along, and i new it was a super gadget. The price was so low, i thought the company who were selling it had made a mistake on the sale price. So just incase, i ordered one straight away.
The size of this little gizmo was astonishing, so small, yet it packs such a massive punch!! It can be used as a standard digital ... ...Alaline batteries, theres no fuss about recharging, when the power runs out, just bang a couple of double A's in, and your set to go imediately. With a cute little 1.5'' colour TFT LCD, this cam islike no other, its sleek design and light weight statistics allow it 2 fit anywere u desire, in any pocket, in any purse, u name it, u can take this super toy anywere u damn well like.

Advantages: portable, durable, good value Disadvantages: no flash, relies entirely on removable media
...astonishingly, there it was, the Mustek DV3000, i thought the price was amazing - a 3.1megapixel digital video camera that can also take stills and record audio, plugs into the tv as well as USB on your computer, i had to have it, i can't disclose the site due to regs on ciao, but it only cost me just over £90 including delivery from the site. (if you want the site, you'd have to contact me.

the 32MB MMC (multi media card) that came with it was easy to put in and it holds more than enough high resolution pictures for my needs.
i did however, find that when taking stills, the camera would seriously benefit from having a flash, as many of you may know it is often ...

Advantages: Small compact and very light. good value for money Disadvantages: No flash, not rechargeable, only 2x zoom
Good quality pictures when used outside, even when zoomed in the pictures are still good enough even tho the quality setting automatically switches to low when using the zoom. However, when using inside in artificial light the colour seems to go orangey/red. The night mode facility helps but then any movement causes a blurred photo. AS for the video function, again same light problem as the pictures. Video quality is generally very good on high quality ... ...of video on high quality you will need to invest in a fairly high capacity memory card (1GB = around £50) and you should be able to then video over an hours worth on high quality. On low quality the picture is a bit choppy but is not too bad if your filming something that doesnt require you to move the camera around a lot. As for the zoom this is fairly poor really. You can only zoom in and out while not recording. This as a pain because this mean ...

Advantages: small, easy to use, good quality, inexpensive Disadvantages: drains battery life like most cameras, software not brilliant, no flash
...it’s the quality you want, it may be worth a larger 64mb or 128mb Multimedia or SD card. There is no flash, and the quality in dim light is pretty bad, however, other than that, its really cool and my Mustek DV3000 is one of my proudest possessions! ...

Advantages: Small and Easy to use Disadvantages: no flash, not great for filimg using aftificial light (inside)
i was impressed with this little camera when i first used it, i was outside it was sunny and we were messing about taking short clips of us fooling around, then it started to rain and we were forced to go inside. it was quite dark inside and as i used the camera everything went orange, the picture quality became very poor. i switched on 'night mode' and everything was much easier to see, but i still had the orange glow.
its a good camera for someone ... ...enought to carry with you all the time, and easy to use. the camera feature produces some very good photos if your in the right light, but i did find that any movement produced a poorer quality picture.
i dont like the fact that the camera is not rechargeable, i found this very annoying because i had to change the batteries constantly.
another thing about this camera was the fact that the 'best picture quality' is only available when fully zoomed ...
