Good quality pictures when used outside, even when zoomed in the pictures are still good enough even tho the quality setting automatically switches to low when using the zoom. However, when using inside in artificial light the colour seems to go orangey/red. The night mode facility helps but then any movement causes a blurred photo.
AS for the video function, again same light problem as the pictures. Video quality is generally very good on high quality but if you are planning to shoot any great length of video on high quality you will need to invest in a fairly high capacity memory card (1GB = around £50) and you should be able to then video over an hours worth on high quality. On low quality the picture is a bit choppy but is not too bad if your filming something that doesnt require you to move the camera around a lot.
As for the zoom this is fairly poor really. You can only zoom in and out while not recording. This as a pain because this mean that you have to stop filming and zoom and then start filming again. The sound range of the microphone is good and the quality is adequate.
Its a shame they didnt incorperate a rechargable battery. The batteries do last a fair while except when the camera is plugged into the TV it seems to drain very quickly. I have since invested in some rechargable AA batteries which work a treat.
The interface with a computer is very good. After loading on the software you just plug the camera in and the software runs automatically, with a good user interface which is easy to use, also doubles as a webcam and microphone which is handy. as you dont need batteries while its connected to the computer. The LCD screen is fine.
I bought mine whilst on holiday in tenerife for 95EUR (about £65) but i have seen them on ebay for around £50 since.

A little bit more information such as an approximate price and suppliers would help. Let me know if you revise the review and I will pop back and re-rate. Sue :)
