This camera is utterly amazing for the price! I had it all of 2003 and most of 2004 until i stupidly broke it.
First thing that will hit you about this camera is the size, it is very light and fits in your hand or yur pocket well. Second, it takes great photos and videos.
Pros:
Takes great vibrant photos, and has a range of effects such as black and white, sepia, and more.
Black and white, sepia etc takes some STUNNING pictures. I couldn't belive how many quality photos i was getting!
Lasted all the way through glastonbury 2004 and brought home some wonderful pics/videos.
Video is nice, slightly slow FPS on higest quality, but it depends what you're filming.
Very easy to adapt to - once you have this cam for a while, you really get in-tune with how to get the best pics/vids out of it.
Mp3 player - comes with headphones, and also and extrnal speaker, great for playing music to your friends.
Dictaphone - records just audio to Wav files. great if you;re a musician who wants to remember a riff you're writing. Or if you're in the office and want to make notes.
Battery - Charges quickly.
Cons:
Battery life - it didn't last me a whole weekend. BUT it was pretty good really. not much of a con, especially if you have a spare battery for it, or can get access to a plug socket for an hour or so. I think you can also buy a device to charge your battery using AA ones.
Slightly poor build quality - the main thing to be VERY careful of, is when you remote the battery cover, the clips that hold the battery cover on are very thin plastic, and if they snap you have a nightmare getting the cam to work. It seems that inside the cam, the battery needs just the right amount of contact for the cam to work.
Apart from the battery cover, the rest of the cam is really sturdy, and lasted me thru 2 years of holidays and festivals.
I finally broke mine at Download rock festival last year, but i was watching Korn and Slipknot at the front while getting crushed in the crowd. Overall the cam is pretty tough, but not as durable as the average mobile phone.
If you buy this (which i highly recommend) Take care when removing the battery cover, and treat the cam with respect, be careful you don;t sit on it when it's in your pocket, and don;t tae it into a heavy metal concert!

Amazing camera, amazing price. after getting the dv5000 to replace my broken cam, i have decided to go back to the dv4000 cause it's by far the best mustek cam i've tried.
