Advantages: Small, looks cool, makes a good webcam Disadvantages: picture quality is only good with adequate lighting, no flash, 75% chance of blurry shots
When i first saw this camera at the shop, i was shocked with its incredible features and at such an incredible price. Thought it was too good to be true... and it was.
It was “the smallest digital camera” as quoted by the salesman. It has pretty impressive features which would make you go like “wow, all this in that little thing?” The good point of its size is that it can be used as a spy cam if you can operate it properly.
It took ... ...needed only three hours in the USB port it took about five so I left it in my PC overnight and used it the next day. I took a couple of shots in the different modes, 640x480 Low-Res (can store 180 pictures), 1600x1200 Medium-Res (can store 30 pictures), and 2042x1536 High-Res(can store 20 pictures). It has 16MB of non changable memory meaning you cant upgrade. All the shots were blurry with an exception of the ones I took outside the house. The camera ... more
When i first saw this camera at the shop, i was shocked with its incredible features and at such an incredible price. Thought it was too good to be true... and it was. It was “the smallest digital camera” as quoted by the salesman. It has pretty impressive features which would make you go like “wow, all this in that little thing?” The good point of its size is that it can be used as a spy cam if you can operate it properly. It took me while to charge the thing, although it said it needed only three hours in the USB port it took about five so I left it in my PC overnight and used it the next day. The camera is actually 2.1Megapixels which is the actual hardware that takes the pic at the medium resolution, while the high resolution looks like 3.1Megapixels because of software enhancements. This isn’t your typical digital camera in that you plug it into your PC and it is recognized as an external drive but you have to install the software to view the pictures. The button that takes the pictures sometimes gets stuck and doesn’t take the picture until you press harder. In digital camera mode, most of the pictures you take will most likely end up being blurry and unusable. If you have an extremely steady hand and are extremely patient and have time to take several shots so you can pick and choose the one that worked, then this is the cam for you. I could never understand how to adjust the dial on the outside of the camera, no matter what position it’s in the shots look the same. One of the features on the box says “Taking close-up pictures easily”... what a lie! I tried taking pictures of my new cell phone close up but they were always blurry. It is almost impossible to take close up photos of something. The only way your shots would be successful if you are using it out doors on a nice and bright sunny day. The only good thing in its digital mode is its video recording; it can capture video up to 2minutes. There is no audio but the video quality is impressive for something that tiny. I must admit the webcam feature is quite good that the pictures are of a good quality for a webcam. It hardly lags (depending on your net speed) and the picture looks nice and bright. The bottom line is if you want to get a digital camera, pay a little more get a digital camera, not this imposter. You cannot use this camera professionally meaning to take pictures to publish them online because honestly they are an embarrassment.
Advantages: neat, tough, great features Disadvantages: needs a PC for power, needs a steady hand, no flash
Though i have only a passing usage of other more professional models of digital camera, i would recommend this little gadget to anybody. Lightweight and small, yet provides all the features you could want for everyday camera use. Has three modes of quality, the highest being an interpolated 1600*1200, providing about 18 shots...and more than 100 shots at lower qualities.Provided with a little adjustable stand, it can perch on a monitor and be used ... ...to take up to two minutes of video.
The only downsides i could find with this camera i are
a) At higher qualities pictures take longer for the camera to capture and so a steady hand or support can be required to prevent blurring...having said that it doesn't detract from the camera at all once you get used to it.
b) No flash, pictures are great in daylight but even well lit rooms can appear dark at night.
I purchased the camera primarily for ...
