Mustek MDC-3000 good as gift for mother-in-law

Advantages: Low price
Disadvantages: Cheap plastic and battery slot and a lot more

I have owned Mustek MDC-3000 digital camera for more than a year. I bought it because of the price and reasonalby nice look on the web without having it in hands. The camera is actually producing not bad photos (you may see few examples attached) but only in well lighted places, especially outdoor in sommer. So when you want to have simple cheap toy for making few photos on vacation it might be not so wrong choice. Let me look now at some disadvantages. First of all it has poor, cheap plastic case which is really easy to break. My camera felt once on the floor at home and case broke at the same time. Similar I can tell about battery slot which you have to use quite often because the camera simply consumes too much power to be able to make all photos even using 16 MB Compact Flash card. MUSTECK MDC-800 It's GREAT

Advantages: Simplicity of use. Professional finish
Disadvantages:

I've used a number of Digital Cameras, for various tasks: Web Sites, Family Photographs, Property Views, old Cemeteries and Head Stones, Certificates etc. For me the Mustek MDC-800 does everything I want and does it well. Ease of use, Professional finish and the Price is Right! On occasions I have lent it to people with no experience of Cameras or Photography and they have been impressed and agreeably surprised at the ease at which they achieved excellent photographs, both indoors and out, that they could be proud of. Numbers can be deceiving...

Advantages: Lowest price 5mega-pixel camera you'll find
Disadvantages: lacks many features you find yourself needing

I?m a car nut, plain and simple - much like the Mustek mdc5500z. The 5500 (I wont give it its full title or we'll be here for weeks) is a digital camera, a nice and simple plain talking, straight up digi-cam. And as long as you remember that you'll be fine, however, if you want something more, or consider yourself to be a bit of a dab hand at photography then your going to want to take a few more notes from the ATM and pop down to your local camera specialist who will no doubt charge through the roof and be full of employees who only speak in numbers and specifications, and who all have monotone voices. You will need to do this because the 5500z is NOT a complex camera. I wanted a digi-cam this Christmas and played my own Santa by grazing the interweb for a camera that looked good, had a high resolution but didn?t cost over £100 ...
