...We were looking for one of these for a long time, and eventually found this on the internet. I checked out a few prices and reviews, after all, we had never heard of "Mustek", but this machine seemed to be highly thought of and well priced. We got it for £179.99, but I forget where from. The dvd player plays everything perfectly. Picture quality is great, and sound is just enough for its size. It comes with an adaptor to plug into the cigarette lighter, and a mains one too. The battery charges quickly, and lasts about 3 hours, plenty of time for a film to play. The best thing however is the fact that it is a widescreen dvd player. The screen is 7 inches wide, and if you think that most dvd's are produced in this format, it makes perfect sense. Some of the cheaper portable players are in 4:3 format. This was a godsend... ...This is a quality Item from Mustek, I purchased it a few weeks ago, and have enjoyed using it. It fits perfectly onto my car seat. This excellent portable dvd player has a wide variety of features, An excellent LCD Display 8.4" active matrix TFT (16:9), It supports the following Disc Formats: DVD, VCD, SVCD, CD, MP3, CD-R/RW, Kodak Picture CD, JPEG! It has a Tv tuner and a scan output. Supplied with are the mains and car adaptors, So you can run it in your home, or if your on the go and want to let your kids or whoever watch it then it just plugs straight into your cigarette lighter socket and your away. ...to playback audio, mp3 or jpeg picture cds and kodak picture cds. You can also change the brightness of the LCD panel. One downside is that you can only play discs from region 2 (Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East and Egypt). But this is only a minor setback. CONCLUSION The Mustek PL407H is a superb portable dvd player at a superb price. At the time of writing this reveiw, the unit was available for around £160 on the internet, still a competitive price. Very Highly Recommended!! BONUS TIPS! Always try and test out the dvd player before buying. Visit your local electrical retailer for a denonstration. Stores such as Dixons will let you try out the player, so you can see what sound and picture quality is like. Don't buy players you know nothing about, even if they are at a fairly good price.
