Mustek PL305

...We were looking for one of these for a long time, and eventually found this on the internet. I checked out a few prices and reviews, after all, we had never heard of "Mustek", but this machine seemed to be highly thought of and well priced. We got it for £179.99, but I forget where from. The dvd player plays everything perfectly. Picture quality is great, and sound is just enough for its size. It comes with an adaptor to plug into the cigarette lighter, and a mains one too. The battery charges quickly, and lasts about 3 hours, plenty of time for a film to play. The best thing however is the fact that it is a widescreen dvd player. The screen is 7 inches wide, and if you think that most dvd's are produced in this format, it makes perfect sense. Some of the cheaper portable players are in 4:3 format. This was a godsend... ...This is a quality Item from Mustek, I purchased it a few weeks ago, and have enjoyed using it. It fits perfectly onto my car seat. This excellent portable dvd player has a wide variety of features, An excellent LCD Display 8.4" active matrix TFT (16:9), It supports the following Disc Formats: DVD, VCD, SVCD, CD, MP3, CD-R/RW, Kodak Picture CD, JPEG! It has a Tv tuner and a scan output. Supplied with are the mains and car adaptors, So you can run it in your home, or if your on the go and want to let your kids or whoever watch it then it just plugs straight into your cigarette lighter socket and your away. ...small for my liking. (When I write this review, 3.6" models are now available, but I cannot imagine watching a film on such a small screen. Everyting must be so tiny!!) I decided that for all 3 passengers to be able to watch the film in the back of the car, I would have to invest in something a little larger. The Mustek PL407H certainly caught my eye. It has a 7" TFT wide-screen facility, with 16:9 aspect ratio. This gives a stunning image on a good sized screen, of which everbody in the back of the car can see clearly. SOUND Sound is one of my big things to watch out for when purchasing a portable DVD player. Some units can give a poor quality sound, that is simply not loud enough when listening to some of the quieter passages of a film.
