Its presented in a big box, and I was very relieved (and also surprised) to see how small it actually is! At 8cm in width, by 1.5 in height and 13 cm in depth, the passport fails ... ...Vista. Design
Its presented in a big box, and I was very relieved (and also surprised) to see how small it actually is! At 8cm in width, by 1.5 in height and 13 cm in depth, the passport fails to take up much space on your desk or on top of your pc tower. Its a miniscule 105 gs which means i can hold it in one palm quite easily. The stainless steel enclosure case is attractive and i hardly notice the sounds it makes when transferring files, thats how quiet this metal box is!
Instructions
The instructions were straight forward to plug it in, and watch it go. I inserted the USB canle and within a minute of plugging it in I received the software had been recognised and it was well on its way to fulfilling its purpose. Moments later the software was automatically installed, and it was ready for use. Its recommended for use on Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows XP, Apple MacOS X 10.1.5 or later, Microsoft Windows Vista. I moved all of my games and some music files to the hard disk, along with backups of university work, and photos (the 3 rules of computing are back up, back up, back up!).

I would thoroughly recommend this product due to its great reliability and very good value for money. At this size you will never need to buy another hard drive ever.

The price is unbeatable given the capacity and the manufacturer's brand. Though is the cheap series of external HDDs from Western Digital the quality is very good. The drive looks good, nice glossy design and is solidly built. The install is straight forward, just plug it in and your PC should recognize right away. The drive is quiet (it makes some noise, but it isn't annoying at all) and runs relatively cool (my ex-external HDD from IOMEGA has way ... ...the USB2.0 interface is not the fastest thing around, but it is ok for data backup and operations that do not require considerable speed ... if you want speed than your better off spending a couple more money on the edition that comes with eSATA. Also by default the drive was formated with FAT32 probably for compatibility reasons, but since I use it only with Windows Vista/2008 and occasionally XP I've reformated it with NTFS. The model itself looks very stylish and modern sitting on your desk. When data is transferring, the blue bar is broken down into two separate lights that flash one after the other. When in idle, it just has one constant blue bar. The spin up time for the drive can sometimes by a nuisance when watching films, as although it is fairly fast, when returning to the film from the drive being idle, it jumps and skips until the drive has found the right ... ...is really quite minimal and just feels slightly warmer than the rest of your desk. When writing, the drive sometimes makes audible clicks which is quite offputting. There are strong vibrations aswell when reading or writing at the peak drive speed. Overall though, with its massive storage space and sleek look, this is a brilliant addition for your desk. ...
