was I immediately plug it in then back up the existing pre installed softwares from the drive, and then i re-formatted the drive using NTFS file system.
The main reason I did this is because, MyBook came with a factory default FAT32 file system. The downside of FAT32 is you cannot copy a file larger than 2 GB to this drive and that FAT32 is less-stable than NTFS.
Since this is a 1 TB drive, re-formatting to NTFS will take forever, I took all night to format it.. So if you really know what you are doing you can format it yourself, if not, seek for a professional help.
ok so back to the performance, because the drive has only 1 port.. just the USB 2.0, the average transfer that this device can handle is about 1-3 Mb/s. Copying an HD movie ( 8 Gb of size) will take around 10-15 minutes...

INTRODUCTION
I absolutely love Monopoly and had always played the game with the paper notes (the traditional way!) and had owned the game for years. A year or so ago, a cousin of mine bought a newer edition of the game, with an electronic digital banking device and credit cards rather than the paper notes, and I absolutely loved playing it this much easier way. But I had forgotten about it until my girlfriend and I spotted 'Monopoly - Here & Now: The WorldEdition' in our local TESCO supermarket, at an introductory price of around £25. We both enjoyed playing the traditional Monopoly, but when I told her how good the electronic version was, she was excited about trying it, so I bought it and we took it home to play straight away.

This is a book you WILL read again.
