A couple of years ago when my son was a year old we were having problems getting him to sleep in a bed. He had a really nice cot bed but he would scream and scream until the only way we could get him to sleep was in his buggy. Now this obviously was not very ideal especially as he is quite a tall child and after months and months of him refusing to sleep in a bed we decided to look around for something different.
So one day I happened to notice a Thomas ready bed in Toys r Us for £30 , a lot of money but it got me thinking that if we could at least get him to sleep in it then we would all have some decent sleep.
~What do you get in the box?~
Carry Bag Pump Sleeping Bag Air bed Instructions
The airbed is made out of white PVC, you basically place it inside the cover you will find a valve for the pump and then you just pump the bed up. It will take between 5 - 10 minutes to inflate the bed depends on how fit you are! You then just zip it up and it`s ready to be used.
~The Bed~
Once the bed is inflated it has a built in headboard which is red and yellow and has Thomas & Friends written on the front. There are bolsters on both sides which is ideal for little ones as it helps them to stay on the bed instead of rolling off! The sleeping bag has a bright colourful picture of Thomas and feels very soft it is attached to the bed.
Deflating the bed takes a little while but is easy to do , then it all fits in the carry bag and doesn`t take up much space.
~What do I think?~
Well from day 1 my son loved this bed and the best thing of all we all got some sleep! He slept in the ready bed for 6 months until christmas last year when his grandparents and uncles clubbed together to buy him a proper Thomas bed which is what he is in now.
We did find that he needed a pillow to give him just a little bit more comfort.
The only thing I don`t like about the bed is the sleeping bag is fixed to the bed, my son never liked sleeping inside it he liked sleeping on top with his blankets over him. Taking the cover off is quite easy the zip has a safety feature so you will need a pin to open it. We used a spring from a clothes peg as it was just the right size. Putting the cover back on however can be quite tricky unless you want to deflate the airbed first! Washing the cover again is very easy and ours got washed a lot and still looks new! I then popped it on the line for a couple of hours and was amazed as to how quickly it dried, I do not recommend tumble drying.
Recommended age is 2 - 5 years old, my son is very tall and is 3 , I think this will fit him for another year and we will be using it in October when we go on holiday.
Age 2 + Size approx: 135 (l) x 71 (w) x 32 (h) cm Price - £30 Tesco`s , Amazon, Toys R Us , Mothercare
Advantages: Fun, easy to use and great value for money Disadvantages: None Found!
My daughter recently grew out of her Samsonite Pop Up Bubble Travel Cot (which I have also reviewed) and we decided that, as she had moved from a cot into a 'Big Girl's Bed' in her room, it was time to make the move with our travel sleeping arrangements as well.
We thought about just letting her go in a standard bed, but felt that as she was in a junior bed at home (which is only 90 cm off the ground) it would be a bit much to expect her to cope ... ...'accidents' while staying away.
My daughter has the Noddy version of the bed and absolutely loves it and gets so excited when we tell her that we are off to visit someone as she knows it means it's time for her Big Girl's travel bed! She looks so cute, and comfortable, in it, especially when she is sat up leaning against the inbuilt headboard while listening to her bedtime story!
I would highly recommend this product to parents with toddlers who ...

...of £16.99 from Argos for my 2 year old son although I think they are normally around £29.99 which seems expensive but I'd say well worth it.. We were going to stay at Grandma's house for a long weekend and she lives in a one bedroom flat so space is a big issue. He's too big for the travel cot now so I thought this seemed the best option.
We all love it! It comes in a madium/large box with a big carry handle on it, you get the ready bed, a small ... ...should be then but for my son it's wonderful he's quite a big boy and it will do him atleast a year or so. Well I'll start on the features then, it is a fair sized mattress which is reasonably thick for comfort, it has a headboard to stop child rolling up which is fab and it has 2 raised 'bumpers' at the sides to keep your child in, this worked for us because my son has stopped rolling around in his sleep but if your child does they don't tend to ...

Advantages: handy for sleepovers Disadvantages: no pillow and expensive
My son received on of these for Christmas from a friend of mine. She said it would become a practical present and oh my it has been.
The design
The design on our one is of In the night garden every childs favorite at the moment I think, Although I do believe they come in different choices, such as Fifi, Thomas the tank, Noddy, Dora and various other characters.
My first ready bed has been very well designed it has a built in headboard designed ... ...fit in this bed as my nearly two yr old practically fills it now.
The matress is not to be used as a life saving device. Although most of us adults would never try and use it for that reason Im sure they dont tell you that info for the good of their health.
They do come in various sizes. The next size is for juniors and then for teenagers so very handy if you child of any age stays away from home.
I would recommend this product as its very good ...

Advantages: compact, easy to set up and put down, comfortable Disadvantages: expensive
I won our My First Ready Bed in a competition so didn't actualy buy it. New cost is approx £35. It's not something I would have thought of purchasing but would recommend now. However I still think it is overpriced new. We have the Noddy Ready Bed. It basically comprises a small blow up bed with a cover that goes over the top. The bed comes with it's own foot pump and is very easy to put up. It does only take a few minutes but there is some work involved ... ...your foot as I found my foot keeps slipping off the pump. The bed includes a headrest and has side bumpers for extra security. One of the things I don't really like about the bed is that the bed "cover" is partially attached to the bed on one side a bit like a sleeping bag. It's not really a sufficient blanket for a good nights sleep and cannot be removed. I wish they had made it detachable. My son prefers to sleep with his own duvet on top. I also ...

...the Flowertots ready bed for my 17month old daughter at christmas and it is fabulous she loves it. From the moment we first blew it up she was constantly climbing in and out of it. It is one of the best things I think i have ever bought, everything you need is included in the box a pump, bag to keep it in and sewn in sleeping bag. It only takes a few minutes to pump up and when deflated it stores so easily in the neat bag included.

All in all this is a wonderful product which has had loads of use in our family when away over night, for the weekend and even two weeks in Greece and I would strongly recommend to any parent but especially those of you with limited storage space.

You may think that by buying three different travel cots/beds for my daughter I am spending a fortune and taking up more space than if I had just bought one travel cot. However, you would be mistaken! The cost of the three cots/beds put together is the same or just under that of the average price of a travel cot and, even when placed together, they still take up less space! ...
