I have two young sons who are madly into Thomas the Tank Engine, my first son especially so, he was about 6 months old when he started to take intrest, so I brought him the My First Thomas, he immediatly took to it and carted it about with him everywhere, the poor thing has been dropped, kicked and thrown about by my son and it stills looks as good as new.
Since then I had my second son and he also enjoys thomas, only now we have got nearly the full set of My First Thomas, and It is so easy for even the smallest pair of hands to use, it simply slots toghether.
The track is slighty expensive starting from around £18 for a basic circular track and the prices go up to £80 for the deluxe set which includes a large track, station house, Thomas with Annie and Clarabel and several other activites on different parts of the track.
Since then we have now got talking thomas which are really fun, they interact with each other and do different sound affects and their eyes move when they get pushed along, the only problem is they don't always stop making noise at night and we can hear them toot tooting away in the toybox.
I think these toys have definatly been worth their weight in gold, they have given my children hours of fun, and they really take a beating, they may seem a little expensive, the basic My First Thomas train starts at £5 and the talking Thomas around £15, but for the hours of enjoyment they get, I think they are well worth it.
