...This stylish hard drive from Western Digital is one of the simplest electronic things I have bought in years. Just plug it into your USB port, and it does every thing for you, no installing drives off CD's, which on some things I have experienced, can be very time consuming. It is also surprisingly quiet and very stylish and with 320 Gb of space theres enough room for thousands of your pictures and music files. This also comes with a Fire Wire cable so transfer of your files is almost instantaneous. The cost is a little higher compared to some of its competitiors, I got mine for £99 from Amazon, but is well worthy of the price tag. I can promise, you wont be disappointed.... Read review

...I decided to buy an external harddrive as I store a lot of music and photographs on my computer and I would like it to be backed up in case my computer breaks and my files are irretrievable. I decided to start on Amazon.co.uk and searched "external harddrive" on their main page. ...turned out to be surprisingly fast. Access time was very quick, 12ms per second seek time, so within the hour i had backed up and transferred my files!. I have had no trouble streaming games and movies from my hard disk, with access to files within the disk is as instant as a normal hard disk drive. It can be stored on it's side, or standing up right. They can also be stacked, if 320gb isn't enough for you! There is a circular light around the on/off button to indicate that the device is on, and also that disk access is being made. During powerdown of your computer, the hard disk will automatically turn off, so there is no need to turn it off yourself. The unique Capacity Gauge LED is extremely useful as it tells me how much space is left without me having to check o my pc. They can be easily knocked over, so if you're untidy like me...
