My Very Busy Sticker Book (Charlie & Lola) - Lauren Child

Despite the motorway birthday cake my elder son’s birthday party was Charlie and Lola themed. I bought loads of “My very busy sticker book” books into the party bags as my son’s friends love stickers too. We had 2 books left which is pretty good as I have two sons.

The book is bright green coloured and Charlie and Lola are on the cover. The title is written with huge bold letters. I bought the books on Amazon. They were on offer for 2 pounds. I think it was a bargain. There are more then a hundred of stickers in it. The pages follow the story line of the film series.

The book starts exactly as all the TV series: “I have this little sister Lola. She is small and very funny. “I hear these two sentences about ten times a day. My sons love watching the TV series and they love this book too. So in this book Charlie wants Lola to play cards with him but Lola is too extremely busy as she is a farmer. By the time Charlie wants to help her she changes her mind and she is an extremely busy chef, then a waitress, then a doctor, then she runs an underwater office. Finally they tidy up the room and play cards.

The pages are very colourful and actually the place of the stickers is not marked so the children can creatively put the stickers where they want. There is a little help on the right side of the pages but if you put only those stickers on the page there remain loads of them. So you can put them wherever you want and I found that in the beginning I had to help my son where to put them but later he guessed them. It is very good educational book. Sticking stickers develops fine motor skills. This sticker book is my son’s fourth sticker book and he is becoming better and better in placing them where he wants. The first books were marked so the place of the sticker was left white and became colourful only when he put the sticker to its place. It was good because he saw where to put the sticker but he wasn’t smart enough. Now he is getting better and better. It is really nice watching his development. He is interested in the story and loves sticking stickers. I think the 2 pounds for this book was really a bargain. There are loads of stickers and it is a new possibility for them to learn new words. There are 16 pages in the book but actually the story is only on 14 pages.
