I connected it to a NAD C350 amplifier, a YAMAHA KX-580 SE cassette deck and a pair of CASTLE PEMBROKE floorstanding loudspeakers.

I have been involved in mid and budget priced hi-fi for many years now and would like to pass on my experiences to you, the reader.

On to the review: i bought my NAD C 521 BEE CD PLAYER ten months ago from HI-FI CONFIDENTIAL in london and paid £180 for it.
I connected it to a NAD C350 amplifier, a YAMAHA KX-580 SE cassette deck and a pair of CASTLE PEMBROKE floorstanding loudspeakers.
Once the CD player was connected, a very easy job( one connects with either r. c.a. plugs or a digital co-axial lead), i listened to what could only be described as stunning sound from the NAD.
The bass was solid and taut and the treble was very sweet with no loss of control. The soundstage was well controlled and in focus, with voices and instruments projected extremely well, the vocals being very realistic. I have tried all kinds of music from rock to pop and classical and have been unable to trip the NAD up.
This is indeed a very fine CD player with a remarkably low price. You even get a remote control included!!!
Go on be different!! Try the NAD.
They have a great reputation for reliability and fine sound which i will not argue with, for good reason: i have used NAD products for many years now and have never had a failure or been disappointed with the sound.
Advantages: the c521bee sounds great with all music theres plenty of warmth and scale the c521bee could shame players costing 3 times as much. Disadvantages: non for the price really
I recently purchased the nad c521bee cd player to replace my marantz. you will find them on line for about £170, i paid £199 for my example from a dealer but they did supply a blackrodium interconnect worth £30 so really you would be better off going to your dealer as they will give you a demo if you wish and will be available should things go wrong. Like most people im on a tight budget and can not afford the top end players but after listening ... ...bettered at this price. The nad sounds great with all types of music with plenty of detail, warmth and scale. The styling of the nad is'nt to everyones taste but in titanium it looks like it cost more than the asking price. The build quality is excellent at this price range and the c521bee also comes with a very good remote......If you are on a budget and want a quality player the nad is in a class of its own....... ...

Ciao members have rated this review on average: somewhat helpful Review of NAD C521
Advantages: Anologue sounding with great detail,no digital hardness like cheaper cd players Disadvantages: Original rrp(£450) may have been to much for some people regardless of performance, slightly laid back sound
The first time I listened to my cd72T it was clearly a step up in sound quality compared to my Nadc521 bee, which is quite rare when comparing similary priced cd players. The cd72T may cost twice as much as the nad but as other hifi enthusiasts will tell you, that doesnt always mean there will be a night and day difference between the components in terms of sound reproduction. An example of this is a freind of mine who upgraded from a cd72T to a cd92T at twice the cost and was less than impressed with the difference in sound. When upgrading a hifi component, the results can sometimes be a little dissapointing but i guarantee you if your looking to upgrade from a sub £200 cd player and choose the cd72T you will be astonished at the difference. The Arcam cd player has a great all round sound and handles all musical genre's well, even ...
