I saw this in Richersounds, together with its optional amplifier and wanted it straight away it looked so cool and different from normal DVD players, but the price put me off a bit - was £350 pounds 2 years ago.

Advantages: Looks fantastic, picture and sound fantastic, multi region, remembers last viewing of 100 disks Disadvantages: price, no progressive scan, no avi/divx support, remote is poor

Eventually I bought it and the amp and took them home, and installed it with the excellent instructions and found a multiregion crack on the web within seconds. The first thing that struck me was the amazing quality picture, ... ...picture and sound quality was much better on this.
I started using it straight away and the remote was an irritation, as the amp is controlled by the same remote, but with the slidy switch at the bottom changed, so virtually everytime you change something unintentionally as its on the wrong setting! but I can live with that, as it looks so unusual and is physically smaller than most DVD players I have seen.

The first thing that struck me was the amazing quality picture, I had a sony DVD player before this, but the picture and sound quality was much better on this.

Connections on the back are limited to RGB scart. s-video and composite out with co-ax optical output too, so there's no progressive scan on this player and it doesn't support DIVX movies. But it will play movie backups and home made DVD's on dvd+r and dvd-r.
One of the best features I have found on this player is that it remembers the last vieing position of your last 100 DVD's and when you insert it a second time it asks if you want to start from your last position - very good as you can skip intro sequences, copyright screens etc.
If your after an unusual looking DVD player that has great picture and sound then I recommend this, but at the price it is quite hard to justify when Asda are selling DVD players for under £20 and recorders for under £100. But its worth it for the higher picture and sound quality.
