Although NBA games and BasketBall games in general are nothing new, this game really drags you in. The graphic at 60fps are stunning and really do a great job of showing those great close-up moments when you slam dunk right in front of your opponent's face. Even the shine on the polished court is there. The sound is just right although after a while you will notice that the commentary does not necessarily go with the action! Small niggles aside, this game is the best Basketball game I have ever played (and there have been quite a few!) Even non-basketball fans will find themselves playing, and loving, this game, so it's not an exclusive game by any means.
Advantages: The best basketball around. Disadvantages: For the purist, it is too easy to score with ridiculously high point games. Also can become a tad easy.

NBA 2K was the best Sega Sports title out on Dreamcast in Europe until the mighty Virtua Tennis was released. The graphics are amazing: each player looks as though they are REAL and the movement and speed is just brilliant. NBA 2K is the best Basketball title in the world at the moment, really is a great game to play. The controls are easy enough to learn, and there are many different game modes to play, including Play offs, quick start, exhibition ... ...have good commentry then try NBA 2K out - you'll soon see/hear what I mean. You simply have to own this game if you are a sports fan, or you could wait until the next version NBA2K1 is released later this year (or early next year). Superb! ...

Advantages: True realism, suck on this EA Disadvantages: if you complete it too early you may find trouble wanting to go back to it again
...Anyhow if you're a big NBA fan like me prepare to pick your jaw up off the floor cos this game is make you wonder how good the dreamcast actually is. The graphics in it are awesome and no other NBA game comes no where near close in matching this little gem. The little things such as the intro for each game (the lights off etc. and each player is introduced just like real life) really does make you wonder how in fact games are becoming more and more ... ...myself when I seen this.
In game the playability is so good, that even your granny could pick it up. The wide variety of moves (using motion capture) are really good and the dunks are just explosive. Each player looks so real (Vince Carter with his goatie etc.).
The chance to create yourself also allows for extra option which is really good- give yourself an afro with all the tattoos and extra bisceps and maybe you might look like Kobe.

NHL 2K is a very impressive Dreamcast sports title produced by the legendary Sega Sports team (who are also responsible for the amazing NBA2K, Virtua Tennis and NFL 2K1)
and really is worth buying if you are an ice hockey fan. There's some similarities between this and NBA2K namely the way the game plays: it's fast fluid and incredible fun with realistic graphics and very good player animations, but it isn't as smooth or as stylish as it's basketball counterpart.
NHL 2K is an ice hockey fans dream game, and its currently the best game on any format in the fairly quiet genre of ice hockey games. There is ever statistic and player that you'd want, various game modes, and a very interesting punch up system which can happen at any time during the actual game! Just as I thought sports games on the Dreamcast couldn't get any better after seeing NBA2K, along comes this instant classic! Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is a fantastic piece of gaming fun which is as original as it is clever.
I never really got the hang of skateboards, the only trick I could do was falling off in several different and amusing (to everyone else) ways, but I'm glad to say that this game is far easier to get on with than the real thing. The controls take very little time to master, but there are so many tricks and courses that the game will last and last, it's a game you will always want to come back to again.
The general idea of the game is to skate (no!) while acheiving certain goals, like getting a set number of points or collecting the S K A T E letters dotted around the course. While this is relatively easy ...

Online gaming has been something of a xxxx for the Dreamcast. When the Dreamcast launched, it was touted as the next step in getting gamers together. And while it took SEGA almost a full year before we got our first true taste of online gaming with Chu Chu Rocket (sorry, playing by email with Sega Swirl didn't cut it), the Dreamcast has a pretty good line-up of online games. Whether it was blowing your friends into smithereens with Quake III Arena, sacking the quarterback in NFL2K1, taking it to the hole in NBA2K1 or competing against online players in other Dreamcast online games, SEGA fanatics could interact with online players in almost every way... except one. As much as we love to compete against other players, DC gamers haven't could really play together as it has been limited to two-on-two sports games and team battles in ranching ...
