...I have been a fan of the Shootout series since the beginning, and I must say that when the computer is in charge of both sides, I can play a good game. The computer controlled defense is good, but your computer controlled players leave much to be desired. For instance, they constantly run out of bounds on a fast break so that when you pass to them, it's an immediate turnover. Or, when rebounding, the ball falls right at their feet and they don't react to it. I created a player to see if I could take unfair advantage of the computer and of course I couldn't. Overall, the appearance was very good;however, Allen Iverson is too dark to support the appearance of tattoos if the designers had chosen to include that bit of realism. This game is fun to play because of all of the great features it has, but I would rather give some of that up if my...

...this game is is really good. i have this on psp, the graphics are brilliant and you can pull off real nba moves such as alley-oops, skills etc. you have 4 quarters 3 minutes a quarter. you can make substitutions, and the players on your team or the opposing team get get injured. in the menu bar it gives you the option of just shooting around with a team of your choice of practising your free throws. also, when you are at the menu bar on the right you can see to players from different teams have a skills competition. you can also play with team europe, team usa and team world. the only bad thing about this game is that the transfers are done without money and you can just swap players from team to team....

Advantages: good graphics, season mode, and roster management system, and is very playable. Disadvantages: takes a while to get used to, can crash ( has happened twice with my version), trading system doesnt work very well.
...My Thoughts
I bought Wayne Gretzky NHL 2005 for £20 on a compulsive PSP game, shopping spree. Having played on similar NHL games on the PS2, i had high standards for this portable version, and out of all of the games i have bought for the psp this turns out (unexpectably) to be the most addictive. The first few times i played it, i thought, " what a waste of money", because the gameplay was simply too fast to handle as a beginner (even with difficulty set to rookie!). However, a visit to the options menu later (to change the gameplay speed), i found Gretzky NHL 2005 a highly enjoyable gaming experience.
I find that the only down side to this game is that when trying to trade players with other teams the computers acceptance of the trade seems to be complete random, often rejecting your 2 players for their one, who...
