Finally the Opteron 165 have one other feature that it´s entry level X2 siblings are a bit short of & thats probably why its so fast in so many applications & benchmarks that i have runned
curious yet? its the doubled L2 cache (2x1MB)
FYI I´m currently running this gem @ 2.7GHz (that´s a good 900Mhz OC) & the temp is so low compared to my former AMD A64 3200+ (Venice) around 15 degrees celsius lower on the average.
I can also add that I bought this one just to OC the heck out of it, so immediately after the break-in time of 3 days I ramped up the speed adjusted the various settings in the BIOS & ran PRIME95, ORTHOS & 3DMARK06 I was utterly...

...Well my little Bondi Blue babe is almost 18 months old, and here's the review.
233MHz, how does that compare with the current crop of consumer PC's / iMacs? OK 233MHz doesn't sound like much processing power when you see ads for 700MHz PC's, but you've got to remember that the PC MHz rating is not directly related to that of IBM / / Motorola / Apple's PPC chip architecture. It actually equates to around 450 MHz, so it's not to bad. My machine has a 160 MB of RAM and is perfectly happy tossing 200 MB photoshop files around in it's memory.
What about the Hardrive, isn't 4GB too small? Yes, but after 18 month's of hard work, evev a 10GB drive would have had to have a couple of spring cleans on it. I chose the easy option and bought an external USB CD-RW (x2) and an external 20GB USB Harddrive. So storage worries are now a thing...

Advantages: Stylish, Fast !!!!!!!, Great to use Disadvantages: Expensive
...Well what can I say, when I first laid eyes on the Quicksilver Macs I knew I had to have one.
I had never owned a Mac before but my brother in law had a IMac which I really liked.
Having a PC background the Mac was a serious leap forward for me.
The processor is produced by Motorola ( Yes the phone people ) although the chip has a lower Mhz rating that a Pentium chip, It can far outperform the best P4's. A good test for me is my friends P4 2.0Ghz can encode a DVD in ( 60 min footage ) in 1hour 34 min,
my Mac can do it in 57 min. Enough said.
The hardware that it comes with is good, DVD-R drive,
GeForce 4 MX. The main difference between this and the new I-Mac is that this has a higher system bus, which is 133 Mhz instead of the I-Mac's 100 Mhz.
I think this speed increase makes a huge difference.
The standard HDD that came...
