Manufacturer's product description

The L150 is intended for end users that normally require multiple, separate PCs at their work area. For example, many military and intelligence agencies require that users work on separate PCs that are connected to different secure and public networks. The NComputing L150 incorporates the unique User eXtension Protocol (UXP) into a PCI plug-in card that connects over Ethernet to a separate shared PC - usually one that is connected to a public network and the open Internet. The L150 draws power from the PC into which it is plugged, however, it is otherwise a completely separate terminal. Space at the user desktop is saved by mounting the L150 into an existing PC, rather than using a separate external L Series terminal. The end user can switch between the secure PC at their desk and the shared open PC accessed by the L150 via a standard KVM (Keyboard-Video-Mouse) switch. The L150 can also be used to upgrade an old PC to function like any standard L Series terminal and connect back to a shared host. Several L150s can be installed in an old PC to support multiple users.

Review of UC 100 pci to usb controller card by nicky69

Advantages: provides 2 usb ports cheaply
Disadvantages: none

...we have a relatively old system now even though its only 18 months old and bought a web cam the only problem was we needed a usb port which our system had not got so were advised to buy this pci to usb controller card which gives your system 2 usb port to use. Its very easy to fit just slots into the pci slot and away you go once you have found the driver leaving you to be able to plug your web cam or any other item which has a usb port rather than a pci slot. It cost around £15 which is a lot cheaper than having to buy a new board and alot easier so would recommend this card to any one who does not have a usb on their system.... Read review

All you need for sound, apart from speakers
Review of Creative Labs Soundblaster 64 PCI   by WormySqurmy

Advantages: Cheap and cheerful.
Disadvantages: not as good on some of the new games. Get a PCI128

...This was the first card I ever got. Why did I get it? Because it was cheap and it was from a very respectable company. Installation was easy and I still have the card now in my PII 450. I also have the PCI 128 sound card in my AMD 550, which works a treat. Then my bros machine (AMD 475) has the SoundBlaster Live, which is basically the same as the PCI 128, just with some specialist software that nobody wants to use. If you are just a simple computer user this card is all you need. Go and get the PCI 128 if you want to play the newest games with super sound. But if you have a subwoofer or sound mixer with surround sound blah blah blah, go for the Sound Blaster Live.... Read review

Easy to install USB 2.0 PCI card
Review of Archos PCI USB 2.0 PC Expansion Card by volcano

Advantages: Easy to install
Disadvantages: None

...I have bought this PCI card a week ago. Reason: I have got a MSI K7T266Pro2 motherboard that only offer USB1.1 ports (1.5Mbytes/s maximum transfer rate). Since I have got devices that uses USB2.0 and without breaking my piggy bank to upgrade my computer, the most economical way is to install a PCI card that offers USB2.0 connections (up to 480Mbits/s or 60Mbytes/s, 40X faster than USB1.1) for 1 internal port and 4 external ports. Before you buy a USB2.0 PCI card, make sure that your motherboard got version 2.2 PCI slots which are USB2.0 compatible. If your motherboard hasn't got version 2.2 PCI slots or higher, don't bother. You need a motherboard upgrade. Also, your operating system needs to be windows 2000 service pack 4 or windows XP which provides appropriate drivers to support USB2.0. For the other operation systems... Read review
