The phone itself has a good menu, and a seperate button to get to the phone book which is very handy. It has a retractable aerial which is very useful if you have a weak signal, bring it up and you get a better one!
However, i have noticed ... ...to press the buttons a bit harder to get a reaction on the phone, so this might be something to be careful about.
You also have different ringtones for up to 20 people, so if you want to know who it is calling, just set up a ring tone so that you know when they are ringing and you know how fast to run to the phone!

However, i have noticed over the past couple of months that I am having to press the buttons a bit harder to get a reaction on the phone, so this might be something to be careful about.

It also has a LED indicator which indicates low batteries, incoming calls, new messages etc. You can turn this off though if you wish as it uses some of the battery. the battery has a long life too, can't remember just how long, but i think its 12 days (dont quote me on that!!) without any use, but again, this depends on the type of signal you have and how hard the phone is working to get a better signal.
All in all, a very good phone with very nice looks.

I bought this phone in a package and was very impressed with the features, the ease of use, the hands free kit is excellent and a vibrate alert is also very useful. The batery life was impressive too, I rarely turn it off so this is one of my main needs as is reliability. This is however where the phone fell down the main disadvantage with it was not clear until I had had the phone for several months. I'm not particularly hard on my phones and treat ... ...my pocket to answer a call when I placed the phone to my ear it cut out and I also got a pain in my foot. Microwaves scrambling my nervous system making me deaf and giving me limb pain ....... NO the battery fell off. This was because the clip was exposed and made of weak plastic since then I have had several problems with it not just the keys sticking or not working but the clip coming off another 2 times after fixing. I have owned one of these little phones for a year and a half. This was my 2nd phone on One 2 One and was actually an improvement on my Motorola C520, which I used for 1 week.
I’m not going to be too sceptical, because I don’t think people realise that a bad Network and phone combination can make things worse.
When I first saw the DB2000, it was very original and pretty in design and very compact even compared to the latest phones now.
... ...friendly than Nokia 3210(which I hate), Motorola C520, Ericsson T20 and Samsung SGH600 which are all phones that I have used. The message menu and settings work brilliantly and the screen size is perfect for the mobile user.
The battery life lasts for about 3-4 days when on standby, which is more than adequate. This phone has all the functions that I like, vibrate, a good selection of tones and so on.

...so I resorted to contacting NEC direct. In spite of the fact that I had no insurance they sent a courier the same day to collect the phone from my office. Two days later they called to say that they couldn't mend it and would therefore give me a new one. This they biked to me the same day.
Slightly worrying that the phone gave up on me after such a short space of time but full marks to NEC for their customer service. ...

Advantages: looks attractive... Disadvantages: ..which is no good if the phone keeps breaking
...take up the problem with NEC who told me that the fault was nothing to do with them, but to do with my network provider. My network provider told me to contact my manufacturer, and on it went. Even though my phone is under 1 years gaurantee, NEC will not replace the phone. However, i do know of a friend who had his phone updated by NEC after frequent complaints, and a letter to head office, so dont give up hope. ...
I have used quite a few mobiles over the last couple of years, but this was the first one I had actually bought myself (the others being supplied by work) and so I did a lot of research into the various products available.
My main requirements were battery life, size and weight.
This phone easily meets all of these with a battery that I have to charge about every 5-6 days, it may look longer than the competition but this is made up for by the thickness ... ...without a problem and as it's so light it isn't a problem to carry even in a shirt pocket.
As for the robustness, it has survived a couple of drops (admittedly it came to pieces but they are quickly put back together as nothing actually broke) and works everytime. The aerial can be a bit flimsy, but this is true of any phone with a retractable aerial.
The quality of reception is excellent but the aerial helps in bad areas, and reception abroad ...
Advantages: Superb menu system, Packed with Features, easy to learn/use Disadvantages: Slightly bulky, Not enough memory
-dated. The phone is amazing on it's own but not in-front of say the Sony Ericsson P800 which is my next phone. Having said that I still believe the Nokia 7650 menu system is still more simple and intuitive then the P800.

The NECDB (Dual Band) 4000 is one of a series of phones made by NEC. Its small light and easy to use looks nice and feels nice in the hand. The phone features a vibrating ringer, 14 ring tones, you can assign ring tones to 20 different people in your phone book and also features an answer/disconnect flip pad and flip pad auto keylock.
Aesthetics:
The flip is sturdy and not clumsy at all and the buttons are easy to use to navigate the menu system as well as for dialling. The antenna is not to big and will not make a big impression when carrying in your pocket.
The Menu system is the same as the previous DB2000 so software wise it does not appear upgraded. The ring-tones are also the same as the DB2000 and now sound very bland and boring for what should be a newer improved model.
Only thing I think it lacks is a bit ...

In stylish brushed chrome the dual band DB2000 has incredible standby and talk time, silent vibrate alert and "EFR" for enhanced speech quality comparable to a fixed line phone. The DB2000 mobile phone is among the smallest and lightest dual-band phones on the market. The ultra-slim design makes DB2000 an exceptionally pocketable phone. Specific subscription contract conditions and services are provider / market specific and couldn't be captured at the time this product information was researched.
