Ever since the network 3 went live I heard nothing but complaints about the service and how dodgy the handsets are well I just brought this phone from www.thelink.co.uk on the 3 network with £15 credit as it is prepay (pay as you go) all for an amazing £35 (with £10 trade in) I traded my old Nokia 5110 which was just sitting their collecting dust.
IN THE BOX
You get a fairly large box branded with the phone and the 3 logo and when you open the box the handset is sitting on the top and when you lift the top part of the box under there is the documents and accessories you should get:-
1X NEC e313 3G handset
2X Rechargeable batteries (YES TWO!!)
1X Two piece charging adapter
1X Mono hands
free kit (also to listen to music)
1X 3G Three Sim card
1X Set of instruction manual
All this for £35 now you try saying no)
SETTING UP
Set up is really simple take the phone out the wrapper remove the back cover of the handset, insert the 3g sim card insert the battery connector side up, replace the cover connect the charger and let it charge for the one off 16 hours (then two hours next time you need to charge)
When the battery is fully charged you are ready for registration,
when you try to make a call you will be directed to 3 customer services where they will take your mobile number and handset IMEI number, you can register your personal details but this is optional.
After the registration is complete you are ready to make and receive calls (remember to top up first)
HANDSET NAVIGATION
This handset is fairly straight forwards to use to make calls dial the number and press the call button, hand up by pressing the reject/power button, the menu system is organized into 9 icons so it is easy to find. You can also personalise 8 shortcuts onto the home screen so you can access them by pressing the middle key and selecting the one you want.
HANDSET FEATURES
This handset offer so much, it has the basic feature as normal phones would have like calculator, to do list, alarm, calendar etc and this handset also offers voice memo so you can record the phone conversation hearing both sides, video calling, video clip and sound recorder, you can also take photos using the rotating digital camera, and send them using mms or send them direct to someone’s email inbox or to another compatible phone. This phone is also equipped with a built in mp3 player so you can upload music onto the phone via data cable or memory card (memory stick duo) and listen to it through the hands free or the built in speaker.
CAMERA QUALITY
When I got this handset I was thinking there must be a reason for the cheap price and was expecting shabby quality pictures but when I took a picture the quality was excellent compared to my NEC e606.
3G SERVICE
I have only been with 3 for two weeks and as of yet i have not had any problems with the network as i am in a 3g coverage area (make sure you check if you are in the 3G service area by using the coverage checker on www.three.co.uk) if you are not in the area you can still send emails, make voice calls and send text messages so its not all bad.
DISSAPOINTMENT
Even though this phone has a lot to offer the main things that lets it down is the size of the handset it is super slim but height wise its a tad bit bigger than a Nokia 5110, The voucher expiry date is disappointing as you have to use your voucher within 30 days and even though three have there exclusive WAP content you can not use normal WAP which you can on GSM handsets as it is not available yet apart from this its all good.

I too used to have the e606. The battery life has put me off NEC phones, and I didn't find them very easy to use compared to Nokia. :-( Good review though :-)
