I was lucky enough to be a 'guinea pig' with this 3G phone to try the phone out for a special rate of £99. I thought this was a bargain to maybe replace my ageing Nokia 3310. With unlimited texts and video downloads I soon got to download football highlights. I managed to download 4 football highlights before the battery was flat! The football highlights were quite good quality in mpeg4 format which could be uploaded to a PC through USB or bluetooth. The polyphonic ringtones could be downloaded onto the phone too which were pretty good and sounded cool :-) The camera took pictures quite easily, but the quality was very pixelated when uploaded onto PC and the colours weren't very vivid. The 3G network with its internet and access to movie and sport pages was quite good. However, the battery life restricted its usefullness because you couldnt look at it for too long. As for everyday use such as texting and phoning, I found texting very awkward to do compared to my nokia(might be just what I'm used too) and trying to phone someone seemed tricky too. The literature you get with the phone is quite substantial in a neat folder. It tells you all about the phone, 3G network, how to use it etc But you can't carry around a 100+ page manual with a mobile phone :-0 Overall, if the phone had a better battery life, a better camera, and was a bit easier too use, i would have kept the phone, as the 3G network seemed to be impressive. However, I am still using my 3310 as i sent back the NEC for a refund.
