Advantages: Extremely fast and reliable
Disadvantages: Obsolete to newer processors

...is still good. Without overclocking it, it runs very fast and does not give any trouble. After 2 months i overclocked it to 2.9Ghz (to stay safe, i did not go 3Ghz). It works really good and does increase my game play afew frames per second. Since writing this Core 2 Duo has been released. Because it has been released, this is now the obvious choice to get now. ( i will be writing a review of it soon to show how great it is). If you dont want to spend too much and the Pentium D 920 2.8Ghz is at a good price or cheap, it is really worth getting. Advantages: Cheap, Good Performace
Disadvantages: Not HT, L2 Cache could be bigger, Easy to install if you know how.

...the processor relatively quick and very capable for everyday tasks and even gaming (when paired with a good graphics card). It is available in the older Northwood core or the newer Prescott core, I chose Northwood because prescott run hotter, but the prescott does have 1mb of L2 cache, comapred to the Northwoods L2 cache of 512kb. This makes the prescott slightly better for video encoding. ---------Performance---------- I'll start with the most important aspect of any processor, performance. I bought this processor as an upgrade to a 1.7ghz 400FSB pentium 4, and it's one hell of an improvement. I can say through general office tasks like web browsing, word processing etc, it is no worse than a Hyper Threaded (HT) 3.0ghz Pentium 4 Its by no means top dog anymore, there are better and faster processors out there, working on new technology... Advantages: I feel this processor cheep and speedy.

...Different processor i used in my professional life, this processor is compatibly give better performance. This is a speedy processor and work efficient while in development processes. Many applications work fine in these applications. It will be released in two models, the X7900 and the X7800. These will feature an 800 MHz FSB. The X7800 will be clocked at 2.6 G Hz and will cost around $795. The X7900 will be clocked at 2.8 G Hz, but its cost is unknown, but expect it to be more than 1000 dollars per CPU in packs of 1000. The Core 2 processor does not require the use of DDR2. While the Intel 975X and P965 chip sets require this memory, some motherboards and chip sets support both the Core 2 and DDR memory.
