Advantages: Cheap.. with great value.. Disadvantages: Choosy when it comes to mobo's
...The Athlon643200+ is the amd’s answer to Intel’s new processor cores. Although not the fastest processor in the AMD’s processor lineup it builds a reputation of making a value processor with a cheap price tag, probably cheaper than the Athlon64 FX-51. In some of the benchmarks conducted on this processor it showed to be a formidable processor. When it comes to gaming benchmarks the Athlon643200+ did have some high scores. I am very satisfied with ths one. I have an old Pentium 600 mhz before I bought this processor, The FX-51 is my first choice but due to financial constraints, I bought up the second best thing which is the Athlon643200+. There is no doubt that the Athlon643200+ is a great gaming solution. I am planning to overclock this processor but before I can overclock it; I need to research first on how much more...

Advantages: cheaply priced, good performance, nice overclocker Disadvantages: athlon 2500 mobile edition is cheaper and more overclockable.Runs hotter then athlon mobile cpus
...Well I have been into pcs a long time now, owning
from an athlon 1800 up to and athlon 3000 and 3200.
Now most people judge when buying cpus or hardware
price/performance,now admittedly whilst the pentiums
are good cpus,in all fairness they are more costily and
their price/perfomrance ratio isnt as good.
Add to this the fact that the athlons whilst running hot
can be very very good overclocking processors with the
right air or water coolling and you have yourself a very
very competitive yet not overprice cpu.
Although personally myself I would purchase a mobile
Athlon 2500 cpu ,these are processors made for
laptops, but are compatible with socket A motherboards
and they run at a lower voltage meaning..
1) they run cooler by a quite a few degrees
2) the 2500 mobile athlon cpus overclock better then the standard athlon xp...

Advantages: CPU plug and play - recognises cpu instantly, Quick memory speeds, 4 Ram slots Disadvantages: Overclock options not as good as previous abit boards, No IDE Raid
...After pondering whether to go Athlon64 or upgrade my current motherboard, i decided to get a new board for my Athlon XP.
I wanted something new, and with support for faster hardare incase i wanted to upgrade.
With 8 x AGP support, 8 USB 2.0 ports, Onboard SATA, support for Athlon XP upto 3200+, 4 Dual channel memory slots (nvidia chipset boards only have 3!), and the fact it was an Abit board made my mind up (Abit have a reputation for reliable motherboards).
Setup was simple, Open up my case, remove my old motherboard, Change the components from one board to the other (Memory, CPU, Graphics card etc), and then pop the board into my case. Takes about half an hour to 45 minutes to do this.
Once the board was in, i just had to setup the memory speed in the bios (CPU was automatically setup for me), and change various timing...

The current AMD 64 is another one of those unsung heroes. This is a 64 bit processor, so it’s going to run the applications and operating systems of tomorrow, but still runs 32 bit applications now, so you don’t need to wait for the software to support... more
