The Netgear DG834G is one of Netgears ADSL wireless Routers and has been on the market for around Three Years and Retails for around £69.99 - £79.99. Often this routers are suppiled Free from ISPs.
Right Now i Talk about the Good things about this router
The Router uses a GUI (graphical user interface) Via a Internet expoler or FireFox router. You can access the router and change the settings about even block websites and have parental settings on the router to stop little eyes seeing anything naughty.
The router also have a Built in Firewall which will block Unknown Ports and Ports conceded Harmful. The Router can only be setup to allow a few ports to go through such as Port 80 (HTTP) but if you wanted to you could blocked port 126 which is MSN Messenger.
The Security is very High on this router and is ideal for family's who have a few computers in there house and need a router. The router also logs all activity so if a computer attempts to use a block port the router will then logged it and if you want to everyday it will e-mail you the log so you can keep track what's happening on your network.
The router also acts as your gateway to your network so you can share Files on other computers, Stream videos etc.
Overall The Net gear DG834G is a Stable Router but can have it flaws after a While it has crashed out 2 or 3 times this year. It either forgets the internet password, Can't Locate Internet profiles off the ISP but theses are easily fixed by restarting the router or resetting the router.
