Advantages: Stylish, Cheap Disadvantages: Lots of problems with holding connection.
...This is not netgears finest product I have owned. The router seems to lose connection periodically and needs to be reset 2 or 3 times a day. I had the original product replaced by retailer but after a couple of days of everything being fine the problem appeared again I have emailed Netgears Customer service but still waiting for reply. I have used netgear products before and never had any problems with them before. The router does feature full 54 mbps for Ian over Wireless and also has four wired ports for connection to the device. It also features all of the latest wireless security technologies the admin setup page is also easy to use and setup security functions. If netgear can sort the problem of it resetting then the product is good value for money....

Advantages: Almost too reliable! Disadvantages: Seems to struggle sometimes with weak broadband signals
...When recently needing to upgrade my Netgear DG834 router to a wireless router, I had no difficulty in deciding which company to go for. Netgear are renowned for their well built and extremely reliable networking devices. The DG834G turned out to be no exception. Setting up is extremely easy if following the supplied cd containing a manual and installation instructions. After inputting your broadband account details into the router's memory, you're away. Since then I haven't needed to touch the router at all and it has kept a connection for the 3 months that I've had it without a problem. However, the only slight problem I have found with this router is that the connection can drop occasionally due to the broadband connection being less than 512mb.
Apart from that, this Netgear router continues Netgear's dominance in this market. If you...

...This is already an END OF LINE Product. You can check this on Netgear. Buy one of the new replacement products and no it is not FWAG114P. This has been EOL for last few months but alot of the people and reputable companies are selling this. Do not fall in their trap. This also has frequest disconnection problems which has been fixed in the new beta software v.29 but I doubt it will work perfect otherwise Netgear would have not ditched this completly.
The new upgrade to this is FVR318 which is decent. Also this product has a tendency to hang and you have to manually disconnect the power for a few mins to reboot. Unless you can access this everyday for reboot and you cannt afford a decent product, then go for this....

Having moved back into a friend's house recently, I found myself in the unusual position of living in a household with three PCs. And a lap top. And a Nintendo Wii. With all of this computing power and a mere hard wired 'net connection shared between two more
I work from home, and over the last few years I have been on a search to find a wireless router that could cope with the very thick walls of my house so that I would have a little more choice in which room I could work.
I am a bit of a fan of Netgear... more
