Switch to Netgear

Advantages: Excellent quality. loads of features, easy to install
Disadvantages: None

Netgear are well known for their networking equipment and it is for this reason I want to tell you about a great piece of kit. The 24 port switch. 24 ports of networking capability.... But what does that all mean??? Ok, let me tell you about what a network is. Even the internet is just one big network. it is simply just a collection of computers that are connected together and can communicate. Simple! But, how do you connect them together? Its not like they shake hands and have a chat is it? Well in a way, that is what they are doing but using some extra hardware to do this. Review of Netgear 24port 10/100 Switch

Netgear Network Adapter

Advantages: Great for browsing, email etc
Disadvantages: Poor for gaming

Installation consists of install software from a CD Rom and then Plugging in the dongle to an available USB port. When you compare the netgear software to the default Windows software which it disables, it really does look cheap, something from Windows 95. I have my 54Mbps Dongle attached to a Netgear 108Mbps Wireless Network and the perfomance is good for opening email, browsing internet, downloading files etc, however, when gaming online, i noticed that every few seconds I would lag slightly, which did not happen with my previous wired connection. Also you do not a USB Stand with this product, just a USB wire extension cable. My product cost £29.99 from PC World, I wish I had of purchased the more expensive 108Mbps Netgear Dongle for my gaming needs. ...
