The NETGEAR RT338 ISDN Router provides Internet access, LAN-to-LAN intranet connection, and remote access for a single user, a small business, or a branch office over ISDN. The RT338 combines the latest in networking technology, found only in high-priced business models, with ease-of-use designs and a price affordable for the average home office. Compatible with all major Internet ISDN equipment, the RT338 utilizes industry-standard Multilink PPP and BACP to speed up large transfers by automatically adding more bandwidth. Configuration and monitoring is easy with a Windows 95-based GUI or, alternatively, a built-in configuration manager via Telnet or serial connection. The RT338 can automatically assign IP, gateway, and DNS addresses for the LAN using the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). The RT338 implements extended dynamic Network Address Translation (dNAT+), which enables an entire workgroup to access the Internet using a single-user account, with either a static or dynamically assigned IP address. The router also provides dial-on-demand, bandwidth-on-demand, and spoofing to minimize connection charges. It also provides callback with password protection, PAP/CHAP, and caller ID for security. Dynamic NAT+ provides an added firewall by hiding the local IP addresses from the outside. Eleven front-panel LEDs provide rich, at-a-glance information, and flash memory allows easy firmware upgrade and provides investment protection.
Advantages: Great stable router with great range and speed Disadvantages: None found yet
...supplier was easy and within a few minutes I was connected to the internet. My broadband supplier is BE Unlimited and they do not require a username or password. Obviously for those suppliers that do, you would need to enter that in the web interface.
Once the basics were set up I was able to remove my Ethernet cable and place the router behind a hallway cupboard. Netgear supply the router with a small stand and insist that it is always kept upright. This is I presume to allow adequate ventilation.
The router allows you to set up port forwarding and comes with a few predefined services. The ones I required were not shown in that list so I had to set mine up myself which is pretty straightforward if you know what ports the various services that you set up require.
Security comes in the form of a built in firewall and WPA/WPA2 encryption...

Advantages: Connection speed is really good and range is quite wonderful Disadvantages: Sometimes gets disconnected
...I have used Netgearrouter and based on my experience i can say that performance wise its really good. There are some problems like connection gets disconnected sometimes but that happens because of other frequencies as well, so if you configure your router in a good way, it really gives you a great output.
It's key features are:
5 in 1: Modem, router, firewall, 4-port switch & wireless access point ,Compatible with 802.11b wireless networks and True Firewall & WPA-PSK encryption protects against intruders.
The best thing i like about this is that The built-in True Firewall features Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) and Denial of Service (DOS), which operate as your first line of attack against intruders. The DG834G provides both WEP and WPA-PSK wireless encryption standards to protect your network from eavesdroppers and bandwidth...
