At my home our Internet router lives in the living room but my desktop is in the office, on the other side of the house. Originally we ran a wire all the way through the house from the modem to the desktop pc and this was not practical at all. Having decided I was to move to wireless I first bought a PCI wireless card to stuck at the back of my pc. This turned out to be very complicated as Windows would not recognise the card, the software would not install properly, it would at first not find any connections and when it did it kept dropping it all the time.
Frustrated, I went out and bought the NETGEAR RangeMax Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter for just a fraction of the price more. It installed very easily, it looks great and you can still plug it at the back of your pc in any USB port. I use the long USB cable provided and the holding case to stuck it on the side of my desk where I can achieve better reception.
I managed to get it up and running in less than 15 minutes and not only it found my connection but others in my neighbourhood as well.
Overall, this is a great gadget that provides great network range, great speed, easy to install and affordable price. The only disadvantage I can think of is that the holding case provided keeps falling off the side of my desk, but that's it!
