This game is great fun! Im not a hockey fan but got the game free with my ps3 (and you can get it for around £20 now) and its really entertaining, even if, like me, you don't know much about ice hockey.
The graphics on the game are good, they're not outstanding for PS3 but still are better than some PS3 games. The game runs at 720p resolution, which isnt as much as the 1080p full HD resolution that some games offer, but this is still a HD mode and doesn't alter the graphic mch, (1080p only makes much of a difference on bigger screens).

The controls are good and quite easy to get used to, and for the gaolie control you can use the sixaxis, this is good fun as it makes the game more "interactive" and it involves tilting the controller to the direction needed in order to stop the puck. There are also advanced controls for peopel who are more advanced in the game, I haven't used these yet.

There is a season mode and there are also many unlockables throughout the game, the franchise mode is also good fun, you can play the games or just let the computer play them for you, you can create your own coach in this mode.
There are minigames that are good for playing with mates and this makes the game have a long life span.

The sixaxis style control for the crease control is original and there are other original things such as being able to choose commentary or music in games, and the commentary is the best I’ve seen on a sports game, it is hardly repeated and surpasses any game I’ve played. The music is also good, there are tracks from : Mudhoney, hot hot heat, the postal service, the thermals, nebula, kinski, arlo, band of horses, the constantines, seaweed, and more.

The game has a 1player season/franchise mode but the minigames/exhibitions can be played with up to 4 players. The game takes up a minimum of 2296KB on the hard disk and this is only around 2.6mb, so not much space at all!

There is also an online play mode, I haven't tried it out so cant comment on it much, but it supports 2-8 players.

Another feature is the in-game fights on the ice, they're good fun and if you win they boost your teams morale. The game has a PEGI rating of 16+, and I assume this is because of the violence and fights.

As I’ve said, I am no fan of ice hockey, but i thoroughly recommend this game as its good fun!
