NISIS Graphics Tablets provide an intuitive, cordless, Radio Frequency pen-type pointing device for use with drawing, painting, graphics, CAD and photographic applications. NISIS...
more...Graphic Tablets also offer a free non-mechanical and cordless, Radio Frequency mouse. Having no moving parts, these mice do not suffer from the frustrating problem that mechanical mice experience when the internal rollers become dirty, leading to the cursor not moving when the mouse is moved. The active area on the NISIS Graphics Tablets is covered with a transparent lift-up film so you can slide in photographs or drawings and trace images with the pen. The pen can detect up to 512 levels of pressure, which can be used for many different effects, such as to vary the width of the line you draw, or the density of paint coverage when using an airbrush type tool. These pressure related functions are a function of the particular application program that you are using. The pen just supplies the pressure sensitivity data to the application program. Bundled with Handwriting recognition software, Annotation software for Microsoft Word, Signature verification and encryption software and Art Dabbler, a powerful graphics package, NISIS Graphics Tablets offer the most cost-effective solution you will find in the market today. NISIS offers you its G6 USB Graphic Tablet. It connects directly to your PC via the USB port. No other wire or power adapter is required. Simply connect, install and use. If you have Microsoft's Office XP you can use the built-in handwriting recognition to hand write your documents. Design, edit and create your own graphics/images. Multi-level measuring with Speed, Pressure and Direction on the Graphic Tablet provides you with a higher level of accuracy than a standard PC mouse. G6 USB Graphic Tablet also features cordless mouse and pen for unrestricted movement, a tidy desk and ease of use, and programmable function keys on top of Tablet for one-click access to commonly used functions or application programs. NISIS G6 USB Graphic Tablet works with all software that uses a mouse, including Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, AutoCAD etc.

I have been into web designing and graphic designing for a few years now and drawing with a mouse is incredibly hard. So I found out about these graphics tablets, I had heard that wacom ones were very good, but after searching around the internet I realised that they were incredibly expensive! So I went onto amazon and found the Nisis graphics tablet. I was going to go for the smaller version (the G3) but decided to get the G5 as it was quite a bit larger.

When the tablet arrived I very nearly lost the spare nibs! they are very small and in a small plastic packaging. I was excited to get the tablet to work so I quickly read the instructions and it was easy enough to install! I had it working within a few minutes, its quite hard to get used to if you have not used a tablet before.

After using the tablet for a few days I virtually ditched the mouse, it is not very good at all! I found that when your trying to click, it moved and is incredibly hard to use! So I found it much easier to use the pen for doing everything on my computer. I brought my tablet in June 2003 and I still don't use the mouse that comes with it!

The tablet is a great size and I am glad I did not choose the smaller version because there would not be enough room to do much. I use this tablet with all the latest graphics software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Paint shop pro and it works perfectly! The pen takes an AAA battery and so does the mouse (although you probably won't be using the mouse so there is not much need for that) and the batteries do actually last quite a while, seeing as I'm on the computer alot! I have only changed the battery once since I have bought it!

The pen is nice to hold although I think it is quite poorly made, mine has cracked near where it screws up and keeps coming lose, so you have to be careful with it! The pen draws smoothly and I haven't had any problems with the way it moves.

Overall I do like this tablet, I think I would have got a better one, if I could afford it but basically you get what you pay for! You can find it for £57.29 at amazon.co.uk
