Manufacturer's product description
The 1U Terminal is ideal for use as a console with rack mounted servers that do not have graphics adapters. It is a general-purpose character terminal with a 15" color LCD display and keyboard mounted in a 1U high rack mountable tray. It prevents the need for an external table-top terminal and allows efficient use of space within the rack. The terminal connects to servers using either a serial RS232 console connection or an Ethernet telnet console connection. Also the terminal offers multiple personalities, and can connect to multiple servers when used with a Console Server or with an Ethernet Switch. The unit was designed around military standards and because of the high quality metal construction, this unit can be used in almost all industrial and commercial settings.
Advantages: Excellent value for money Disadvantages: Can't think of any
...I was quite lucky to be able to buy this laptop at a reduced price. My partner works for a firm that supplies computers to large companies, and 10 of these laptops had been returned due to the cardboard boxes being slightly damaged. I snapped up the laptop as I had wanted one for ages - for both work and home use, and have been happy with it since I had it 6 or so months ago.

Advantages: now available cheaply on ebay, good laptop Disadvantages: on the heavy side, 2-3 hours battery life, DVD read only
...I recently purchased a P28 second hand, as I needed a laptop for holiday and travelling use. I bought a 1.5 GHz machine for under £200 on ebay. It has 256MB RAM and 40GB hard drive. The screen is clear and the keyboard pleasant. The trackpad mouse works well - and I only occasionally move the mouse pointer by mistake. As a Linux user I installed Ubuntu on it - and it went on cleanly.
It comes with enough USB ports, a Wifi card, and built in network port and modem. It's a shame that it hasn't got a DVD burner, but it does write CDs.
You will either find it with Microsoft Windows XP Home or Professional and the Intel Celeron M . The P28 claims a class leading four hour battery life but don't expect this.

Advantages: High quality, Trusted brand, Good specification Disadvantages: There are cheaper alternatives, though not necessarily as good!
...normally use a standard keyboard with your desktop PC. The mouse pad is very reliable and easy to use - it allows the user to tap the pad for the equivalent of left mouse button, as well as being able to use an actual button (this feature can be disabled if you don't like it). There's also a scroll wheel that works just the same as the equivalent on a standard mouse.
It weighs 5.76kg, which is quite light in comparison to many laptops, although admittedly not the lightest. It certainly makes it portable enough to carry around without your arms dropping off!
WHAT IT'S GOT
The processor within this laptop is the Intel Pentium 4. For those who are technically minded, the processor speed is 2.8GHz.
It has a 40 GB hard drive, which is more than plenty of storage for the average user, and has 512mb of RAM.
The screen is a 15.1" XGA TFT...
