NTL are Not Too Lame.

Advantages: 3 services with one company; competitive prices

Advantages: all in one package, only one bill, teleport tv
Disadvantages: poor customer service, offshore call centres, long wait times, understanding and lack of training

Advantages: low cost, combined comms package, good products, freephone customer service

Disadvantages: Have to reconnect every 2 hours

...CD and others that don't seem to have Ntlworld as an option. That's a shame as it is very good. If you are lucky enough to be able use it it is well worth trying. BT customers can purchase a re-routing box and if their monthly call costs amount to £10.99 (that amount might have changed recently) they can have NTLworld as well. * INTRO * Hi there folks. As a student I’m always looking for the cheapest way to do something. However, I have soon learnt that the cheapest way, despite being the most tempting, is not always the best. Having spent two years using NTL as my phone provider and thinking BT was too expensive by far, I have now seen otherwise and learnt not be fooled by NTLs price promises. * THE FACTS * Fact, NTL are cheaper than BT but they care little for their customers and in my opinion they are simply a moneymaking organization who have no intention of supplying a fair service. Now that NTL has bought out Cable and Wireless what is going to happen to the existing internet services, We have all heard and read the stories on the news and in the local/national press about people still waiting for months (me been in this catergory)for their CD's for the Internet Connection Package that NTL are currently and supposedly Offering by advertising on Television , just what has NTL done with the customer service side of the business, where has it gone , is it going to reappear or totally disappear........ An example of what I mean is I re-rang NTL to get one of the internet CD's and talking to one of there operator's he asked which Telephone provider I was with, Told Him it was C&W he then goes into great detail of how NTL have just bought them out etc , Great thinks me seeing my chances of getting one of the infamous CD ...

NTL please sort out the mess

Disadvantages: Price, quality, service...

Back in 1991, with the first phone line in my name, I was so keen to dump BT I booked Mercury on day one. Mercury was good: lower tariff, full itemising way before BT, phonecards that worked. Nothing too much trouble - well aware, I suspect, of being very much number two to the BT monolith. Then along came C&W and it's never been the same. Sudden attack of the jobsworths, account errors... and C&W almost never the cheapest. Hope NTL can clean up the mess. Meanwhile, get a Eurobell box for local/national calls and use One-tel for international. (above applies to Mercury/C&W indirect service - but I gather it's little better direct or by cable) ...
