I am an NTL customer because I used to be with Comtel, but they were bought out by NTL so my account was transferred to them.
I have a telephone line with them and a basic Television package. The basic TV package should cost £15 but you get a £3.50 discount if you have both the phone and TV. The phone cost has recently risen and now costs £9.99 a month. However, you do get free weekend and evening local calls to other NTL customers, so handy if your friends and family use them too. I also have NTL worlds set up to connect to the internet and this costs nothing each month on connection or phone calls. They say that you have to spend £10/month on calls to get the internet
service totally free but I frequently spend only a few pounds a month on phone calls and have never been charged extra for the internet service.
The basic TV package is just that – basic – but you get sky one, U.K. gold, paramount, QVC. U.K. Horizons, UK style and about another twenty channels as well, but no films. But you can use their front row film service, where you can order a film for £2.99 – so it’s the same price as going to the video store I guess, but with less choice.
Sounds good??? Well, I would suggest you beware. Once the packages are set up and working, its great. But if things go wrong, you cannot get hold of them. Their customer service telephone number appears to be unmanned most of the time. Seriously, if you have a problem, its quicker to write to them. But I do have one top tip, if it helps, if you do have a problem, fax them, hourly, until they get in touch. It worked for me!!!
So, I would say a good cheap service when it works, but when it does go wrong ( as all systems do at times), it’s a nightmare to get it sorted out.

Don't worry, I think all telecom companies are the same. Even if you were with another company you'd still have the same problems. Good communication? - They certainly don't practice what they preach!
