Advantages Advantages Discounts to many popular stores, cheap to buy easy to apply

Disadvantages Disadvantages When applying through school/college, card can take a while to arrive back

If you are a student, the NUS card is a must have! Applying; .... If you are in a 6th form school, or at college, you can usually pick up a NUS form and send it away with your passport photo and £11 and then simply wait. Although it's not always that simple! When I applied through school, I was waiting at least 6 weeks for my card to arrive back, so I would suggest applying for your card online! If applying via a written form, you will need it to be stamped officially by your school or college. When applying online you can select your uni/college although your placement there will be checked ... more

Advantages Advantages Discounts At Many Places, Save Money

Disadvantages Disadvantages £10, Only For Students, Only Lasts A Year

The NUS Card is a discount card that is available for students only giving various discounts on high street stores. Unfortunately, to be eligible for the card you have to be in further or higher education which includes college, university and Sixth Form students. If you are one of these people this card is definately worth checking out as it has helped me out quite a lot. So it started when I was in Sixth Form and we were given an assembly on this card. It really intrigued me as at the time I had very little money and was scraping by on wages and tips from a job in a restaurant. Any discount ... more

Advantages Advantages There are loads of discounts.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Sometimes it can take a while to be delivered.

The NUS discount card is for students in higher education such as uni, collage or sixth forth. I am in Sixth form and I bought this card a couple of months ago and think it was well worth £11. Normally the card cost £10 but I oppted for the ISIC upgrade for a pound this is the international student identiy card and give you access to offers internationally, so people who want to travel, then for an extra £1 it is probably worth it. I ordered mine online as I think this is the fasted way to get your card, but you have to have a photo to upload when you aplly online as this photo is transfered ... more

Advantages Advantages You save lots of money if you shop in stores & go to places where you can get the NUS discount!

Disadvantages Disadvantages It costs £11.00 to start with and you don't start saving until you have saved this £11.00 back...

NUS Extra discount Card I am not going to bore you will endless detail because the NUS website is very informative and tell you everything that you need to know... Are you eligible There is a whole page telling you if you are eligible for a card. You have to be 16plus and there is no upper age. I am pretty sure you can get one as long as you are studying full time. If you are at a NUS affiliated organisation such as a school, college or university than your card gets delivered to your place of study as this makes sure that you are actually eligible and that you are actually still studying ... more

Advantages Advantages discount on most shops

Disadvantages Disadvantages sale items arent included

During our first week at college, we had a Fresher's Fair. This gave many companies to give us an insight into all of the various discounts and offers open to us now we were college students. Thee was everything from shop discount cards, bus and rail discount - even free condoms and STI tests. The main stall that drew my friends and I in was NUS. There were massive blue posters with smiling teenagers all over it so we thought we would have a look. The lady behind the desk explained to us that this card was only available for college and university students and would offer us discount in many ... more
