Nad's No Heat Hair Remover Wax

Nads is a depilatory system that works with your own body heat. It is completely natural, virtually painless and not too messy, and it works.

It costs £29.95 for a starter kit. This includes a 12oz jar which they say should last 6-8 months, but I guess that depends how big your body is and how many body parts you are removing hair from!

I do not subscribe to the the maxim 'no pain, no gain'. In short, I am a coward and if there is pain involved - forget it. In addition I do not like the horrendous smell of most depilatory creams. As a consequence my razor and I have become big buddies over the years.

I was skeptical before trying Nads; it sounded too good to be true. My hairs, having had their tops shaved off at all too frequent intervals have become very tough customers. How much pain would that cause me?!

The major downside for me was having to let the hairs grow long enough to use the product in the first place - you could fair hear them chuckling with glee.

I am pleased to report that the 'first time' was not altogether an unpleasant experience. I followed the instructions about using the product in a warm place. If your bathroom is cold and you have goosebumps, the product is very gloopy and difficult to apply. In a warm environment, it went on easily and did not stink out the bathroom.

After applying the cloth over the product as instructed, I gritted my teeth in preparation of the pain when I ripped it off.....and was rewarded with a slight tingling that was well below my almost non-existent pain threshold. An important point here is that you have to pull your skin taut, if you don't you'll know about it.

To be truthful, I was not left with skin as smooth as a baby's bottom the first time I used the product, but the hairs that were left were few and far between. My skin did not erupt in an angry red rash and I was suitably impressed.

As for cleaning up, whatever residue of product is left on the body washes away easily and the cloth strips wash very easily too - no scrubbing in hot water like wax.

In short, the product does what it says it will do. I was a committed shaver, now I use Nads.
