Hard as Nails - Avon Liquid Silk Wrap
Review of Avon Liquid Silk Wrap by soph71

Advantages: Cheap, dries quickly, great results, a bottle lasts for months
Disadvantages: Lack of colours available

When Avon came calling I took the plunge and decided to try their Liquid Silk Wrap to coat and protect my nails that are at the moment just over an inch long. The bottle cost £4.29 just over 9 months ago for 12ml of the fluid. The lid to the bottle combines as a brush and I found that the clear liquid was fairly runny when smoothening it across the nail but it didn't drip from the brush when applying it. I usually use this once a week and have found ...
...Clearly if you want a fancy colour on your nails this isn't for you but if you want to protect your nails this is a varnish you must have. I was very sceptical about using any Avon products but not anymore. Hope this helps. Soph x ... Read review

DIY with Avons new colours
Review of Avon French Manicure Set by emmarhodes

Advantages: Easy to use if you know how
Disadvantages: the new colours are terrible

...new Fench Manicure colours that Avon have produced over the last couple of months. I am now ,and always have been a fan of all Avon nailwear. I find them good value, application is good and generally a longer wear nail varnish. However over the last couple of years, the trend for nailwear has gone over to the French Manicure brigade. The likes of Posh, the Footballers wives set etc are all big fans. The french Manicure is essentially low maintenance, ...
...things 'practise makes perfect'. Avon have sold, for a few years now the traditional french manicure set of 2 x 12ml bottles of nail enamel, one white for the tips and one a beige colour that is brushed over the whole nail once the white tip has been done. They also supply the white tip guides so you should be able to get a perfect line on the white tip. Doing this on your own can be a bit tricky so I have often only done it myself when there is ... Instant regret...
Review of Avon Instant Manicure by vixsta14

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Expensive hard to apply and not as durable as I had hoped.

I know its another Avon review and I do promise to review something else very soon but I just had to review Avon's dry nail varnish product "Instant Manicure." Ok so as usual my story begins with my browsing the latest Avon Brochure around a month ago. I had seen Instant Manicure advertised before but as I have always bitten my nails have never bothered trying it. Anyway, Of late I had managed to grow my nails and feeling quite proud of this I though ...
...oblong cardboard sleeve with the Avon logo on the front in Silver writing. The packet also contains a set of how to use instructions. Unfortunately my meeting with Instant Manicure was a little disappointing from the moment I opened the packet I noted that the immediate Mocha colour I was expecting was more of a tacky gold colour. Anyway I had decided that since I had paid for them I may as well use them. I checked the instructions that stated that ... Read review

Shine, shine, shine!
Review of Avon Mirror Shine Nail Varnish by mundugnus

Advantages: Great colour + shine
Disadvantages: Wears at the edges

...Mirror Shine Nail Enamel from Avon in December 2002. My 10 year old loved the idea of shiny nail enamel. After ordering from the Avon lady, the product arrived in a smart white opaque bottle and looked quite different from the usual Avon nail enamel. Colour/Application The colour chosen was Glimmer, a pink/lilac shade. It applied well, quite thick consistency and dried quickly. The resulting colour was fantastic. I had to have a go myself. Since ...
...Cost It costs around a five pounds but sometimes can be purchased as part of 'deal' with other items thus reducing the cost. Quality It does shine! People always comment on the colour. However the chip resistant claim should mention that it might not chip but will wear off near the tip of the nail fairly quickly. To be fairly honest though I don't usually rush to put on the marigolds! All in all a good product which gives quite dramatic colour ... Read review

Squeeze me, Squeeze me, til I lose control!
Review of Avon Colour Trend Shimmer Squeezie Nail Colour by lynsey82

Advantages: Easy to use
Disadvantages: Flakes of easily. Colour very pale.

When I saw the squeezie nail enamel, I couldn't resist. It's sad, I know, but I can't resist a gimmick, even if it is a childish fad! Simply, the nail varnish is in a plastic squeezy bottle, with a brush attatched. You unscrew the cap and squeeze the bottle, et volia! - the nail varnish flows onto your nails. It's as easy as that! I purchased two of these enamels, on special offer of buy one get one for £1. They are usually £3 for 15ml. There are ...
...orange colour -Vanilla squeeze - a chocolate brown colour -Raspberry squeeze - reddish brown -Grape squeeze - purple/lilac The shades in the book, all look quite dark and strong colours, so I was hoping my nails wouldn't pale into insignifigance. I was, however, slightly dissapointed. The dark purple appearing grape squeeze, had a watery appearance to it when applied. Even after three coats it was not the colour it looked in the bottle. Ahh, ... Read review
