Now ladies don’t deny it, the majority of us have a bit of facial hair in places we wish we didn’t; my ex-boyfriend used to tease me endlessly about the tiny bit of very pale hair on the edge of my top lip, to a point where I got so fed up I decided to do something about it – and from a chat with a friend of mine she recommended this hair remover to me, so I wandered off to Boots to get one in a vain attempt to shut him up – so I’ve been using this a while now!

What is Nair Facial Brush on?

This stuff is a sensitive facial brush on hair removal cream essentially; it is made with Camellia Oil and Ylang-Ylang, to give it a formula that is expert at removing hair, in sensitive areas. Its formula means that the hair is removed from underneath the skin – effectively giving you a nice smooth finish. However you can use it on bikini line as well as your face, and other areas as directed, make sure you read the instructions just because you don’t want to be burning your skin as it will be very uncomfortable.

How to use it

Make sure you have taken your entire make up, creams or any facial products off the area you are going to be applying the cream to.

Apply a thick layer of the cream where you would like to remove the hair

Leave it for around 3 minutes and test the area to see if the cream has taken effect, if it hasn’t you can leave it for another 2 minutes maximum… Do not leave any longer else you will damage your skin.

Then remove it with warm water, and obviously moisturise the area!

Does it work?

Yes it does work but not without some downsides personally anyway. The first time I used it I remember not really thinking much about it – and then quite quickly at the three minute mark it started to feel a little bit weird, it began to feel a little bit like it was stinging so I decided to take it off fairly quickly after that, but the feeling stayed as soon as it was taken off for a while – it was quite a tingly sensation for some time afterwards. So I didn’t put anything on it, or touch it for an hour or so until it had calmed down as it looked a tiny bit red. Eventually it did calm down; but that didn’t put me off! I did use it again a couple of weeks later when the hair decided to poke it’s head out again – it wasn’t that bad actually as I expected to have some regrowth problems but thank fully it wasn’t too bad, it had grown back as normal. Thankfully on a second attempt I didn’t remove the hair with warm water I actually used a moisturising facial wipe, and I didn’t get any nasty tingling or redness once it had been removed so that is my tip, if you get a bit of stinging.

However once the hair has been removed it does actually leave your skin nice and soft, for a few days anyway. Depending on how harsh your hair is will depend how harsh your regrowth is. I found about four or five days later I could feel a tiny bit of stubble coming through but nothing that you would call major, or needing any treatment. I’ve noticed however since I started using it about a year ago, that the hair I have in that tiny little area has become much fairer, so I am using this much less often because I am just not noticing the hair. My new boyfriend hasn’t mentioned it, so it must not be visible – so I am going to keep a watch on it but thanks to its apparent bleaching qualities you can’t see much anymore.

Now my only complaint with this stuff, which is my same complaint for any hair removal cream, is the fact that it smells awful! When it is sat under your nose, it’s a smell that you aren’t going to be able to forget about any time soon which well, great makes the experience so much more fun! It will disappear quite quickly after you’ve taken it off thank gawd for that so you aren’t going to be smelling that aroma all day!
I tried it on my eyebrows but I have far thicker eyebrows than I do on the rest of my hair, so there was no chance the five minutes was going to work on them. I did try but it wasn’t happening so I’m sticking with the plucking on that one – didn’t really want to damage my skin too much and look all red!

Oh yes, and it comes in a 50ml pot :)

~*~ Price and Availability ~*~

Have a scout around on the internet for places that stock this because I have only ever seen it in Boots if I’m honest which is where I bought mine for £4.89 – but with your advantage card you can get yourself 16 points, so it’s almost worth it for sixteen pence worth of points. Have a look around though because you never know where you might find it and for what bargain you might find it!
