Hair removal can be a big problem and can be a bit time consuming. So when I saw this advertised I thought I might give that a go. A few months had gone by and I had forgotten about it, when on a shopping trip to boots I saw it. I think it was most defiantly an impulse buy, I mean I would never have gone out specifically to buy it.

The contents of the box includes 1 tube of wax, 1 spatula, 2 after wax moisturiser, and your advise leaflet. All over the box and the leaflet there are lots of warnings about hot wax and how it can burn the skin if it is to hot.
So the first thing I did was take everything out of the box and have a look. The wax is a pale pink color and solid. But it is not like candle wax as my husband thought. I then started to read the leaflet. It has a list of things not to do. Like not to be used by the following types of people the elderly, people who suffer from diabetes, varicose veins, moles, warts or any kind of circularly problems. If you are a person with any of those, then don't waste your money. This product should not be used on the following body parts face, nose, ears, nipples, vaginal or genital areas. If you were sitting reading this thinking I could use that for any of the afore mentioned body parts, then don't. Most of the advice given is basic common sense. Such as keep out of reach of children and don't use if you have a skin complaint.
It was time to start. First of all you need a microwave. The advise leaflet tells us that for a whole tube 2 minutes and for a half tube for 1 minute 30 seconds based on a 900 watt microwave. Now here is a small problem I only have a 750 watt microwave. It states in the advice leaflet that you should not exceed 2 minutes. What did I do? I hear you ask. I put it in the centre of the microwave and put it on for 2 minutes. If you have a re-heat option on your microwave use that not cook or defrost. Another small problem I only have a cook and a defrost setting. To late I was reading this part after I pressed the start button, so I left it. After the 2 minutes you will be tempted to open the microwave and take the tube out. Well don't, as you should leave it for 3 minutes in the microwave, to stand. I just wanted to open it and start stirring. Then take it out of the microwave and be very careful not to spill it. As you put the wooden spatula in to the wax you will find that some of it is still hard that is ok. As I started to stir I thought that it was very much like glue and very sticky. As I stirred the part that was still hard started to soften, but I had to put it back in the microwave as it was not soft enough. Yes in my eagerness to start stirring I had forgotten about the wattage on the microwave. You should only put it back in for 10 seconds at a time. After putting it in for 10 seconds, then taking it out and stirring (this went on for about 2 minutes) it was finally ready to put onto my legs.
The wax should be a creamy consistency. The leaflet say's 'smooth creamy honey'. Not much different from golden syrup. I was rather excited by this point.
So dipping the end of the spatula into the wax and take a large blob, you have to keep turning the spatula so that you don't drip the wax. I then placed the wax at the bottom of my knee and started to spread the wax down my leg I got about half way down my leg with the first blob. The advice leaflet say's that it should be about 1-2 mm, now me I have no idea how thick that is but I am sure that in some parts it was thicker than that. I left it on for about 30 seconds. It was no longer sticky and it felt hard. Ok time to peel it off, this was not the part I was looking forward to, but it was on my leg now and it is not stuff that you can just wash off. Starting at the bottom I started to peel. You should just do it very fast and it is all over and done with, but I am a bit of a chicken so I peeled slowly. Where the wax was a bit thin it was rather painful to peel off, but on the parts where I had been a bit to generous with the wax it was not really that bad. You can guess that I went round the rest of my legs with the thicker wax. You want to know what the peel off looks like. Well it feels like and looks a bit like melted plastic. But it also looks a bit like skin. You can see all of the hair that has been pulled out. After use I found that it was about 2 hours before the wax was completely cooled. Even with using thicker wax on my legs I still have half a tube left, and no strips of fabric to wash great you just put the used wax in the bin.
The last bit the after wax moisturiser. It comes in a sachet and is in wipe form not cream. It was very easy not rubbing moisturiser cream into my legs just wipe and job done. The wipe contains baby oil and chamomile and you can feel the baby oil.
Now for the bits that I missed, I bought mine from boots and it cost £7.99 which I thought was a reasonable price for wax. The smell was quite strong but no stronger that a freshly opened packet of pot purée, it is called sensual orchid. It is not tested on animals. The next time I use it I will remember about the wattage on my microwave and it might take me less time. In total it took less than 30 minutes to wax my legs. For me this is fast as I don't wax my legs very often I normally just use a good old fashioned razor.
Advantages: no need for strips Disadvantages: wax is not water soluble
...I eventually opted for the Nair Easy Wax option. I bought the white and purple box from my local Boots store, it cost me £7.99. It claims to be ideal for short hair.
On opening the box I found a tub of mauve wax, a wooden spatula and two aftercare wipes, as well as an instruction leaflet.
I read and followed the instructions;
Warm the wax in the microwave for approximately two minutes depending on wattage of microwave then leave to stand for a ... ...the skin with wax that is too hot).
Dip the spatula into the wax and then place at the top of the area to be treated, spread immediately in the direction of the hair growth and leave a small amount at the end which is not pressed down so that you have a free end to pull the strip off with. Allow to dry until the wax is no longer sticky to the touch and then lift the edge and pull back the strip in the opposite direction to the hair growth and as ...

Advantages: great results, not too painful, compact kit Disadvantages: can be sightly painful
...so when I saw this Nair Peel Off Wax I had to buy it, I'd also seen it advertised and the thought of peeling off hair with wax sounded interesting.
So, first of all you need to look out for the box which is easy enough to spot it is a purple and white box with Nair written in blue writing. On the box it promises to remove even the short hairs and says 'fast action...lasting results' which almost sounded too good to be true. The box is a square shape ... ...and is pleasant enough but Nair describe it as a 'relaxing sensual fragrance' which did make me laugh at how appealing they can make the simplest of things sound. There are instructions all over the box so you really can't go wrong with this.
The first thing you do is take out your pot of wax and heat it for 1-2 minutes, this took me about 2 minutes. What you have to do is take you temperature indicator stick which is like a pencil with no points ...

Advantages: Smooth, long lasting results Disadvantages: Can be messy!
I absolutely love this wax and have been using it for years now. I have tried so many products but this really is the best.....
It is normally sold for £7.99 in most stores, although I find it for £3.99 in Savers, and it is often on special offer in Superdrug. It comes in a white and purple box and contains the following:
400g pot of wax
Instruction leaflet
1 applicator - much like a large lollipop stick
1 temperature indicator stick
2 Smooth ... ...the lower legs, bikini and underarms, but I find it lasts a lot longer. The wax used to be an awful purple colour, but thankfully this has changed and it is now a translucent yellowy colour… The smell however, is not that great.
The wax is very easy to use. As you can guess, all you need to do is heat it in the microwave until it is runny - like the consistency of honey. You then need to be very careful and ensure that it is not too hot or you will ...

Advantages: Smells nice, easy to prepare, not too messy Disadvantages: Bruised skin, difficult to remove all wax
==Nair Easy Wax==
""Does what it says on the tin. What it doesn't mention is that it can bruise your skin.""
I didn't like this product at all. I bought it I was going on holiday and thought this would be an ideal time to use wax as it lasts longer than shaving. I read the leaflet back to front to make sure I did everything it said. I did the skin test and that was fine. It had a really pleasent smell to it, I was expecting it to smell awfull. ... ...Pulled it back and was surprised that it didn't hurt as much as I thought. It really does work on short hairs. I have tried others which claim this and they dont.
So far so good.
Then all hell broke loose. My legs went bright red and small bruise patches started to develop. I had used it on the bikini area and this had gone purple, not an attractive sight I can tell you. I shoved the whole lot in the bin. I doubt that I will ever try anything like ...

Advantages: As good as the salon Disadvantages: Not enough wax removing wipes
I was a bit wary about buying this product. Basically i did not think it would work.
This is a great product though the key is to get the wax at the right temperature if the wax is not warm enough the hair does not come off as easily. Also i leave the wax on until it has cooled down and that also helps with the hair removal. I have experienced no problems at all.
I have had my wax now for about three months and i like the fact that you can microwave ...
