Nando's restaurants, very much like curry houses, are a blatant and incontrovertible test of one's masculinity. The chicken, as you may or may not know, comes with the choice of four different sauces: Lemon 'n' Herb, Medium, Hot and Extra Hot. Obviously, I always have Extra Hot. If I had a gastric ulcer I'd still have Extra Hot. This is because I'm dead hard, and not because I am so insecure in my sexuality that I have to put myself through painful and pointless tests of manhood in order to subdue the imagined sneers of a world that scares and infuriates me to point of insanity. I always have a vindaloo too. See? Dead hard.
Anyway, as I said, Nando's chicken sauces come in four flavours of varying heat. Up until recently you could only get this sauce in the restaurants, until some bright spark in Nando's marketing department thought: "Hang on, more people would buy our sauce if it was in more shops!" Then he almost certainly did a high-five with a colleague and bought the whole department a round of lattes. So now you can buy Nando's chicken sauces in just about any supermarket in the country. But is this a good thing?
The answer is yes. Of course it bloody is. Nando's sauces are delicious, and turn ordinary, boring, everyday chicken into a Festival of Chicken, complete with chicken-skin streamers and party-giblets. All you have to do is add a few drops to the bird as you cook it, and hey presto (as magicians say), you have a fiery, spicy, scrumptious dish where before you just had a dead bit of poultry. What's not good about that?
A word on the hotness. Or as some people like to put it: 'heat'. How hot is Extra Hot? To be honest, not that hot. Quite hot, but not that. It'll leave you with that pleasant, numb senstion around your lips, but it won't have your eyes streaming and the snot bubbling out of your nose in a molten green frenzy (always something to avoid on a first date in particular, I've found). How hot, then, is Hot? I don't know, I've never had it (what are you trying to say, eh? OUTSIDE, NOW!) But I'm guessing it's just a little bit less hot than Extra Hot. The same goes for Medium. Lemon 'n' Herb is so beneath the scale of painful and pointless tests of manhood that it pains me to even mention it, but I suppose, well, it might be all right if you a were a girl or something. Let's move on.
I don't know exactly how much they cost, but I'm going to go and look it up on Tesco's website now. Hang on… Oh, you have to register to look at the prices. Can't be bothered with that. Where's my friend Google… Right, according to Amazon.com, you can get a bottle of Nando's Peri Peri sauce for $4.99. Christ, that's a bit expensive. I never realised. That's about three quid. But I suppose it'd last you a long time, and not all be used up in one meal like Lloyd Grossman's Roast Vegatable and Garlic Pasta Sauce. So not too bad, when you take the time to think about it.
There we go then. A nice, spicy sauce and, if you should be in a need of one, a penis extension. Not that I need one of those. No, sir. Most certainly not. A penis REDUCTION is probably what I could do with, heh heh. That's right ladies. What's that? Just what are you trying to imply? RIGHT. OUTSIDE, NOW!
Advantages: YUMMY !! Disadvantages: Might be too hot for people with a low heat threshhold.

Advantages: Yummy Disadvantages: Price, no value for money
Chicken is like, my favourite food, and so naturally I could eat Nando's for breakfast lunch and dinner.
For those of you who do not know what Nando's id, it's a Portuguese style restaurant which sells chicken and chips (sounds boring I know) and you can order your chicken in different levels - Plain, Lemon and Herb, mild, medium, Hot, very hot. Anyone who has Nando's will tell you that the Medium is HOT HOT HOT, and therefore only if you love having ... ...get medium, and in the restaurant they also have a shelf of big sauces, in the same sort of flavours (very hot, hot etc) all peri peri style. As well as getting a Medium Peri peri half a chicken I also get very hot sauce to go with my chips, because although it burns my face off, it's so addictive!!!
Anyway, back to the point (im starting to get hungry) Nando's offer their special peri peri sauces in small jars and offer them for sale to their customers. ...

Advantages: very tasty, spicy, cheap Disadvantages: spicy
Nandos Peri Peri sauce is served with food within the restaurant chain of Nandos which has many outlets nationwide. Nandos is a portuguese origin restaurant which sells predominantly chicken on its menu, there is only one steak option which is a prago steak wrap, so if you are not a fan of chicken i believe nandos isn't for you.
When in the restaurant one can opt to have their chicken glazed with the sauce when it is cooked on the flaming grill ... ...which are all available within nandos restaurants themselves. The six sauces which are available are wild herb, garlic, extra hot, hot, medium and sweet. For my palate personally i can only manage the medium sauce as it is very spicy and i would recommend a drink while eating this as it can burn your mouth. The word peri-peri itself translates as pepper-pepper, peri-peri itself is a chilli and is traditionally used to spice many dishes not just chicken ...

Advantages: Has a more interesting recipe than other chillli sauces Disadvantages: A chain outlet product
Nando's is a chain of restaurants which offers Portuguese style food, mainly in the form of highly spiced grilled chicken. The chicken is already quite picante on the plate; since it is usually coated with a chilli baste before grilling. It does, however come with an extra offering of a Piri-Piri sauce. In Portugal every town has a Piri-Piri restaurant, every restaurant has its own recipe for the sauce. The tradition originates in the old Portuguese ... ...Nando's chain of restaurants has managed to get their version of this sauce onto the shelves of most major supermarkets. Here I am reviewing the basic sauce which is most widely available. There are different versions, according to heat and flavour.
I'm writing this review for two reasons. The first is that I am an ex resident of Portugal and am very glad that one of the best aspects of Afro/Portuguese cuisine has arrived in Britain, albeit in the ...

INTRODUCTION
Nando's is my favourite place to go out for something to eat ... and having read many dooyoo reviews about Nando's it seems like many other dooyoo members agree. For me it's not only the great mix of delicious food served in a very relaxed (and stylish) environment but it's the unique taste of the food they serve. A taste that is created by Peri-Peri Marinades and Sauces - Nando's very own secret mix of herbs and spices. If you like the taste yourself then Nando's Peri-Peri Marinades provide the perfect way to recreate the Nando's experience in your own home.

Advantages: Full of flavour and perfect for sharing with the unique Nando's Peri-Peri taste. Disadvantages: They have the dangerous combination of being both moreish and pricey !!!
they discovered a magical ingredient the Birds-Eye Chilli (a chilli which the local tribesmen called the Pili-Pili). The new settlers called the chilli Peri-Peri and mixed it with their own blend of herbs and spices to create a number of fiery dishes. These recipes were passed down from generation to generation and when the Nando's chain launched several years ago these traditional recipes were shared with the entire world. Peri-PeriSauces and Marinades are an exciting mix of African and European spices with a unique taste that has become exremely popular.
