Nando's was first established in 1987 and brought its tasty little self to the UK in 1992, and in the past 7 years has worked its way throughout the UK filling the hungry bellies of all chicken loves with spice and love.

Nando's is nationally famous for its most delicious PERi-PERi flame grilled chicken, but also serves a range of other items to tantalise the tastebuds of even the most sceptical of customer.

Nando's is also vegetarian friendly - offering delicious veggie selections for those that want to stay away from meat. Choose from 'veggie', 'beanie' or 'roasted portobello mushrooms and grilled haloumi cheese' options for your main.

'PERi-PERi' is a secret blend of spices perfected by Nando's and chosen by you to flavour your dish of choice to your liking:

If you're a spice wimp, choose from either 'Lemon & Herb' or 'Mango & Lime' for a zesty zing to your meal.

For those that are fond of the occasional small heatwave, opt for 'Mild'.

Like your spice to be tongue tingling? 'Medium' will be your thing.

Spice addicts should select 'Hot' for an eyewatering challenge.

Think you're hard as nails? Dare to choose 'Extra Hot' for a throat scorching, mind blowing spice experience!

RESTAURANT:

The restaraunt itself always has a very social feel to it - gatherings of chattering friends and family piled round their tables full of mouthwatering food sharing gossip, news and jokes over delicious dishes. Nando's is one of those 'something for everyone' restaraunts. It never lets you down. Whether you're having a family outing for tea, stopping for a yummy bite with friends mid-shop, or celebrating a special occassion - Nando's caters for all.

Not only is the restaraunt a very relaxing place to dine, but the food is freshly prepared on every single order - not once have I had any problem with a meal from the many Nando's restaurants I've visited.

MENU:

The menu is enough to set your saliva glands into overdrive just by taking a quick glance over what it has to offer. Nando's menu is very 'customer friendly' - putting the hungry in the driving seat and allowing you to customise your meal to suit your taste!

Nando's offers a fresh new take on appetisers, providing 4 premium starters that are the perfect introduction to any meal. 'Houmous with PERi-PERi drizzle', 'Red Pepper Dip', 'PERi-PERi nuts' and 'Spicy mixed olives'. They're definately a world away from the starters offered by most food chain outlets. If you fancy trying a bit of everything they have to offer, Nando's have the 'Altogether Now' platter option to share (or not!) that comes complete with all 4 of the starters from the menu at a very tasty price!

My recommendation: 'Red Pepper Dip' - Absolutely divine roasted red pepper dip seasoned with chilli and spice and served with delicious warm pitta slices. Perfect!

As for main courses, Nando's offer plenty! There's definately an option to please everyone. There are 6 different main course catagories to choose from - all supremely mouth watering!

Burgers and Pittas:
Choose from a freshly baked portuguese roll or pitta bread stuffed to the brim with your choice of PERi-PERi chicken or yummy vegetarian options with crisp fresh salad and desired spice rating!

Wraps:
A newbie to the Nando's menu - a delicious freshly made chilli tortilla wrap filled to the brim with your choice of filling, fresh salad, chilli jam and Nando's special mayonnaise made with PERi-PERi spices and coriander.

PERi-PERi chicken:
Plain and simple - just chicken! Choose from wings, 1/4 chicken, 1/2 chicken or an entire whole chicken, spiced to your desire and flame grilled to order.

Specials:
Nando's currently carries 2 'specials' on their menu. A 'Prego Steak Roll' - juicy steak marinaded in garlic, basted with your choice of PERi-PERi spice and flame grilled to your liking. Can't go wrong with a juicy steak sandwhich! The 2nd special Nando's has to offer is 'Chicken Livers' served with a portuguese roll, dare to try this Nando's favourite?

Salads:
Nando's offers a variety of different salads which can be served both with and without freshly grilled warm chicken breast. Choose from 'Mediterreanian', 'Caeser', 'Couscous' and 'Nando's mixed leaf salad'.

Platters:
Feeling hungry? Got a family to feed? Clubbing together with friends? Try one of these delicious platters! Nando's has 4 platters to choose from - each bursting with enough freshly flame grilled chicken to feed an army! Definately a winner. Dive in!

My recommendation: Medium double chicken breast wrap with cheese. Can't get enough of the chilli jam and spicy yogurt mayo! (served with garlic bread and PERi-PERi fries is always a winner for me!)

Ontop of the multitude of main course options, Nando's offers 2 ranges of side dishes. 'Sides' and 'Fino sides' - you can buy both of these seperate for their listed price in the 'sides' section, or choose a main course and add 1 or 2 sides to your main course for a discounted price listed beside the main menu options!

Sides:
Chips (can be served sprinkled with delicious PERi-PERi salt for an extra special kick!), Spicy Rice, Coleslaw, Corn on the cob, Garlic bread, Macho peads and Creamy Mash.

Fino sides:
Ratatouille, Sweet potato mash, Nando's mixed leaf salad.

My recommendation:
PERi-PERi salted chips with garlic bread. Absolutely perfect! I order this every single time I'm there along with my main, no matter how much I protest on the journey to the restaurant, I always end up getting the same thing because it's so delicious!

Desserts:
Nando's offer a menu of 'frozen assets' to cool you down after all that spice! Choose from: Chocolate, strawberry, vanilla or rum & raisin ice cream, Mango sorbet, Bottomless frozen yogurt (winner!) or a chilly billy ice lolly for the kids (big and small..)

Also on offer to accompany a coffee, or to take away for later, are Nando's 2 pastry offerings. 'Coconut tart' - sweet and endearing with a delicious taste. Or 'Naughty Natas' - A portuguese custard tart that is deliciously creamy and sweet. Choose wisely!

Nando's has recently updated its dessert menu (much to my appreciation) and has now added 4 brand new options to its menu. Choose from 'Choc-a-lot' cake (think rich chocolate fudge cake), White chocolate raspberry swirl (the most delicious cheesecake ever to pass my lips!), Carrot cake (yummy homemade taste with rich cream cheese frosting ontop), Chocolate cheesecake (name says it all really..).

My recommendation: White chocolate raspberry swirl. Moist yet firm cheesecake with a rich creamy flavour, swirled with tangy raspberry sauce and served with a great dollop of clotted cream. Yum yum!

Nando's offers a multitude of drinks - soft drinks, juices, coffees, teas, wines, beers and spirits - like I said, something for everyone, for every occassion.

My recommendation: The soft drinks are an absolute steal at £1.95 a glass as they are refillable, you just visit one of their various drinks machines dotted around the restaurant to refill your glass whenever you find it empty.

Overall, Nando's is a very warm, welcoming experience, with a multitude of spicy options on offer, each as mouthwateringly delicious as the next.
