WHY TERRY NAPPIES ARE NOT MY CUP OF TEA
Advantages: Reusable Disadvantages: Expensive
...nappies. I bought lots of terry nappies from Tesco and smiled at myself for the effort and the principle behind it. Well, after using them for a week, I woke my hubby in the middle of the night and told him that I was switching to the disposable ones. One, they are soo expensive, Two, my little one suffered nappy rush in 3 days and thirdly I couldn't keep up with washing them!! To add salt on the injury my baby just wasn't comfortable in them plus ... ...really irritated him Not to mention the fact that they just never remained white with all the stains despite soaking them in varnish and washing up liquid ( got the tip from a forum online lol). My sister used them for her bub and was totally fine with them but I just think that it depends on the individual if you have the money to keep up with the washing and drying and your baby is comfortable in them, then they are a good choice particularly if ...

All good intentions
Advantages: Soft, good for the environment, cost effective Disadvantages: Too time consuming for new Dads
...I finally settled on the Tots Bots Bamboozles with velcro fastening.
Every time I showed anyone around the nursery I made them stop at the pale filled with fluffy white nappies and preached to them about how long it takes a disposable nappy to decompose - how boring I must have been! Unfortunately, even with the best of intentions I didn't become Mother Earth and here are the reasons why.
My DD was only 6 pounds when we took her home and so even ... ...that big that she couldn't lie fully flat. So the first 3 weeks of DD life we used disposables.
At 3 weeks I started to use the reusables. As directed I used a nappy with diposable liner inside and wrap covering the nappy. This didn't seem like too much bother to me. To Daddy on the other hand, who had just mastered the art of getting the disposable on the right way, this seemed like lots of unneccesary work. So Mummy used reusable and Daddy used ...

Bambino Mio and all they have to offer.
Advantages: Can be used with more than one child to save extra money , 100 % cotton Disadvantages: Quite costly
...nappies and one stood out, Bambino Mio, it was easy to use, the design was nice and it looked to be the most comfortable for my baby, it wasn't bulky either, so I went out and purchased a few more wraps and nappies and claimed back £30 of my spend.
Bambino Mio nappies are made up of 3 separate parts...
Mio Nappy - this is a cotton towel like pad. The pad is made up of layers of cotton so it absorbs well, the middle of the pad is a bit thicker than ... ...till the next change.
Bambino recommend that if you are using only cotton nappies, you will need to purchase 24 Mio Nappies , 3-6 soft covers and 1 role of Mio Liners initially. Personally, I have 4 covers and 10 nappies, obviously the liners you will just need to keep buying as needed. Also it will depend if you will be using solely cotton nappies or a mix of real and disposable.
I use cotton nappies most of the time, but if I know I am going ...

Fuzzi buns = soggy bums :(
Advantages: Look great, lovely fit, lots of colour choice Disadvantages: leak, leave bum sogy, expensive, poor customer service
I converted to cloth nappies quite late on, when my daughter was ten months. the main problem was that with my son i tried some two part systems ( a nappy with a waterproof PUL wrap) and just didn't like it. Had i known about 'pocket nappies' then, i'd never have looked back!
Pocket nappies are fantastic, simple and quick to use and once stuffed are as easy as a disposable yet without the chemicals! oh, and they look so much better too!
Fuzzi buns ... ...like a disposable, have a stay dry fleece inner and a colourful PUL waterproof outer. They're very easy to wash and super quick to dry. they come with a standard micro terry insert, also quick to dry. However if you have a heavy wetter you may want to purchase additional inserts of hemp or bamboo, they take longer to dry but are more absorbant (& are natural fibres) Fuzzi buns always come highly recommended, hence why i bought some.
Fuzzi-buns are ...

diasana tie on nappies
Advantages: really do fit birth to potty, organic and cheap! Disadvantages: learning how to put them on takes practise
Fantastic! I don't use anything else.... I have been using these nappies since my son was 6 weeks old. We never have leaks or spills! They look nice and slim on even as a toddler.
If you are on a budget then these are for you, the most expensive ones i have found are £1.60 each! Okay so you then need wool wraps (2 of each size at about £8/£10, but do have a very good resell value). You do also need boosters, but if it is absorbant then you can put ... ...them, as well as home made boosters, and muslins
Don't be put of by the fact they need tieing, as once you have done one you will find it as quick and easy as any other nappy.
These nappies get my vote every time
Washing instructions - couldn't be easier !
I store used nappies using a "dry pail" system, so they all go into a large bucket with a sealble lid. No water is added, as who wants smelly water hanging around! All solid waste goes down ...
