"Nappy your nipper with a nappi nippa!"

Here we go again, anoterh clothie related review - but it's just got to be done!

The nappi nippa is na t-shaped rubber gripper available in a whole variety of colours (originaly just red, yellow and white - but now blue, green, purple, pink - some even have designs on them e.g. girly flowers!) prices start from around £3.50 for three on ebay - also available from thenappylady, twinkleontheweb, teamlollipop and other sites (may even be available in mothercare!)

Anyway, this is an ingenious step forward from the "nappy pin" which although did the job for so many years, was not really a practical option with a tiny baby and even worse a wriggling toddler!

The nippa works in the following way: being t-shaped rubber with a toothed plastic grippy bit sitting behind each of the three rubber tabs (on each end point of the T, left right and bottom) which can be stretched across and gripped to most nappy fabrics (terry, muslin, cotton prefold, even had a go practicing on a linen tea towel - so very versatile! however will not grip fleece very well) and holds the nappy in place, no pins, no fuss - quick easy and generally stab free (however slight risk to mum and dad if you misjudge the tooth a little - yesterday it slipped out of my hand and went straight into my finger - ouch!)
The generally rule for fastening a nappy with a nippa is:
HOOK LEFT, HOOK RIGHT, HOOK MIDDLE!

When i first ordered these (to use with my diddy diapers - see reveiw!) i was a bit unsure how they would work, but I am very suprised and pleased with the result - they make no holes or snags in the fabric, yet grip it so firmly that there is no way i can see that it would "fall off" or "come loose" I never wanted to buy nippa nappies in the past and always went for aplix (velcro) and am now begining to wonder why I bothered - they nippas make a nappy fit so much better!

For anyone currently using pins - step out and move forward, your life will suddenly be so much easier, and if you are still not sure, or they seem a waste of money to you, then just go on a nappy site with a classified section and you will probably be able to pick one up for about 50p!

Happy Nappying!
