Pays to see an Independent Adviser

Advantages: Deals for First Time Buyers
Disadvantages: None that I can find yet

I have had my Natwest Mortgage services since June 1999. I did the usual shopping around at all the major high street banks and a building societies looking for the best rate in the end all the information was giving a headache so I took a holiday. On my return I registered with a number of estate agents in the areas that interested me and spoke to a number of different independent mortgage financial advisers all of whom told me that they could get ...
...of £250 and waited for Natwest to send me an offer of mortgage advance. This advance confirms the terms of your new mortgage if successful. I was successful and Natwest sent me a mortgage offer folder this folder contained all the important documents relating to my mortgage. The folder contained:

The Mortgage Code
Mortgage Offer – a guide to the mortgage offer advance form
Mortgage – terms and conditions

The Mortgage Endowement Dilemma.

Advantages: O.K. if you use it as a means of saving
Disadvantages: If you thought it would pay of your mortgage, chances are it will not.

interest only. I contacted my Mortgage lender, (Nat West Home Loans). They were very helpful and advised me my Mortgage can be changed to Repayment without cost to me. Of course the monthly payments went up,but not drastically, and at least I would have peace of mind. I considered cashing in my Endowement and paying the surrender value off my Mortgage to reduce the payments. After phoning round for Life Insurance to cover the Mortgage value, I found that the premiums would be almost as much as the Endowement Premiums with no remuneration at completion. The best option was to continue with the Endowement as a means of Life Cover and savings. At least this way I would get the termination value of the Policy and instead of paying it towards the mortgage it would be mine. Of course, finding the extra money is a pain, but at least I will ...

There HAS to be another way

Advantages: Friendly staff, easy to use services, telephone banking, short queues, knowledgable advisors.
Disadvantages: Not recommended for home insurance.

and there telephone banking service is a God-send. I now wonder how I lived for so long without it. I have two accounts there - a current account and a savings account. I'm not sure what the interest rates are on current accounts, but who really cares? I never have money in there for long enough to make interest anyway! Who does? The interest rate on their First Reserve account is about 4%. I have recently taken out a mortgage with Nat West too. After weeks of shopping around, they seemed to be offering the best deal. I didn't have a clue about mortgages at first, but the advisors were really helpful and explained all about it, and set up a mortgage which suited me. The only thing I wouldn't recommend Nat West for, is their home insurance service. The prices tend to be a little on the steep side, so take a Nat West mortgage and get ...

Shock Horror - Satisfied Nat West Customer!

Advantages: Excellent individual Service
Disadvantages: A little pushy on the loan front as a youngster

is all about. I have been treated as an individual right from the start with Nat West, even when I was a stupid teenager spending money hand over fist. I was not forced into anything I did not want (except maybe the loan in the early days) and they always listened to my concerns. Overall There are so many other services Nat West offer (insurance, mortgage, savings to name a few) that I could not possible review them all here. You would be asleep before I was a fifth of the way through (if you're not already!) however I have touched upon the points I use regularly and for me the most important ones. I would not have any hesitation in recommending Nat West for a current account, although I have not looked into the competition for business accounts, preferring to keep everything together. My advice is to spend a bit of time ...
