Hardware controller for the B4 Organ, allowing musicians to control the sound with an authentic drawbar feel, just like the original.
The sturdy B4D drawbar controller offers 9 mechanical drawbars, 22 buttons, and 2 knobs for intuitive control over the most important B4 sound parameters.
The controller's nine drawbars can access any of the three B4 drawbar groups. With the buttons and knobs you can control the rotary speaker, vibrato/chorus, percussion, recall presets on the fly, and change the volume and overdrive. Playing the B4 is more dynamic and authentic than ever before!
The B4D controller's sturdy housing is made of high-quality metal and wood. The handy drawbars, precise buttons, and stable knobs provide a direct and intuitive playing feel for controlling the B4's most important parameters: sound character, presets, rotator, percussion, vibrato/chorus, volume, and overdrive.
Each of the B4's drawbar groups can be accessed fast using the switches for Upper, Lower, and Bass. LED lights indicate the current position of the buttons, letting you switch quickly between the different groups when playing live.
B4D is connected to the computer via MIDI. When you alter settings on the B4D or directly in the software, the changes are immediately communicated between program and controller via MIDI. This guarantees a perfect match between hardware and software. On the back of the B4D there you'll find MIDI in and out, plus additional connections for a sustain pedal, two foot switches, and other B4D units.
In order to be able to control all the drawbars simultaneously, it is possible to connect multiple B4D controllers via the Link inputs and outputs.
B4D is delivered with the new B4 update which ensures optimal integration on Mac OS X and Windows XP systems. This update is not available for Mac OS 9.
The B4D works with every B4 (Mac OS 9, OS X and Win XP), however on Mac OS 9 there is no feedback loop, which is used to display the position of the switches. For feedback on the switch positions (LED display) between the B4 and B4D, the B4D must be connected to the MIDI input of the computer and the computer's MIDI output with the B4D. (To avoid having to route the keyboard through the B4D, which would block the B4D input, a MIDI interface with at least 2 inputs and 1 output is recommended.)
The B4D can be used as a MIDI controller with other MIDI compatible programs and hardware units.
Advantages: unique sound Disadvantages: likely to divert your attention from actual muisc making!

Advantages: well made and easy to use Disadvantages: positioning of front and back ports can get cluttered
...Amongst audio interfaces this is unique for having both audio/midi ports as well as the light-up top knob and buttons. These can be asisgned to functions in a wide range of audio DAWs from Apple's Garageband to Logic and Cubase. The unit is simple to install and use although I did have to download the latest drivers for it to be recognised on a USB port. With two audio inputs, guitar and a microphone or other instruments can be quickly setup. The back plate includes MIDI in and out ports to complete the connectivity. Once connected it immediately offers high-end audio clarity and 3ms latency which ensures you hear straightaway the music you're playing. Although this unit is now a few years old, its sturdy construction and versatility make it a better option than the newer Guitar Rig Sessions 3 XE device....

Advantages: Great fun Disadvantages: Very large to store and transport
...sting instruments use (fifths tuning is G D A and E). This is because a tuning of fifths would created a very long finger stretch – probably too much for many players to play comfortably. The lowest string, the E, is the same pitch as the lowest E on a modern piano and is nearly three octaves below middle C. Having said this some Jazz musicians do tune to fifths as it makes playing a major tenth easier, sorry if this is boring to non musicians. Some basses have a fifth string and this can be either tuned to a deep B or C, or to a high C. To tune a double bass you turn the pegs (they are still called pegs although they are metal machine heads) to either tighten the string and so raise the pitch or loosen the string to lower the pitch.

I have, over the last few weeks, discovered one of the more depressing aspects of my university life. These disheartening times don't come when The Saddlers fail to produce the goods, when I'm given a particularly erroneous pint of non-descript lager, or more

Wow, this toothbrush is great!
I received this toothbrush as a gift from my husband for Christmas though I did actually ask him for it (you know what men are like for choosing something themselves!)
