NativeInstruments Massive is one of the best computer synthesizers I have ever used.
It is a VST compatible instrument, so you can use this is most music sequencers including Sonar and Zynewave Podium, which are what I am currently using.
For those who are not up to modern music making techniques, Massive is a an instrument that is played on your computer. You use your music keyboard to send messages about which keys you are pressing and Massive creates the sounds.
The program has quite a few oscillators to start you off. Many instruments have a choice of all the standard oscillations including Sin, Triangle and Square waves, but Massive has about 50 choices meaning a huge amount of flexibility to start you off.

Amongst audio interfaces this is unique for having both audio/midi ports as well as the light-up top knob and buttons. These can be asisgned to functions in a wide range of audio DAWs from Apple's Garageband to Logic and Cubase. The unit is simple to install and use although I did have to download the latest drivers for it to be recognised on a USB port. With two audio inputs, guitar and a microphone or other instruments can be quickly setup. The back plate includes MIDI in and out ports to complete the connectivity. Once connected it immediately offers high-end audio clarity and 3ms latency which ensures you hear straightaway the music you're playing. Although this unit is now a few years old, its sturdy construction and versatility make it a better option than the newer Guitar Rig Sessions 3 XE device. ...
Now this is not necessarily a bad thing, but let's get it out in the open straight away: pork scratchings are dirty. There's no denying it. Even the name conjures up unpleasant images of fat, sweating men grubbing around on the abattoir floor, filthy fingernails scrabbling through the offal in search of scraps of pigskin to put in their scum-soiled, bubbling vats of oil. Never has anyone, before or since, had the sheer nerve to put something so visually unappealing into a plastic bag and try to make people pay money for it. Dirty. Dirty piggy lumps. So dirty, in fact, that maybe I'm getting a little bit turned on. No, it's okay, I'm not. Aroused by a pork scratching? What kind of weirdo do you think I am? But anyway, the question must still be asked: Why on Earth do otherwise sane people eat them?
