Earlier this year I received my credit card bill and to my horror I found that I had been charged interest for failing to pay the full amount on time. So I went to visit my bank, spoke to them and saw that the money had indeed come out of my account on the day my credit card bill was due, however a cheque will take 3 days to clear even if the account is held at the same branch!
So the bank took my money out of my account, earning interest on it in the process, then proceeded to charge me interest on my credit card as I hadn't paid my bill even though they had taken my money!
So I spoke to a very unhelpful cashier who told me I couldnt speak to the manager as they were busy and would just tell me that it was bank policy anyway. I was told that I could ring an 0870 number which the bank also makes money on to complain, however I decided against that and just cut my losses.
However I would like to warn people that Natwest did not listen to me and I have been with them for 15 years. So anyone considering a credit card ( a bad idea in itself think before you chose Natwest)
I think that the card is a useful tool, the apr isnt especially low aound 18% at present for me, you get air miles which is useful, but to be honest there is nothing that sets it apart from any other credit card.
*UPDATE * I have since had 2 mistaken payments of interest charged to my account, one of which was removed when I threaten to close my account!

Have never been a fan of Natwest. That seems really out of order. Must be a better way they can do it. Rich

An interesting point and not a good way to treat long term customers - in order to make VH - you need to include more details about the card terms and conditions, rates, interest free periods, any incentives etc - if you update, let me know and I will happily rerate.
