Navigon stuns the market with innovations again

Advantages: Feature rich, easy to use, bluetooth to your phone for handsfree
Disadvantages: Doesn't have the community features that TomTom has.

the cost entirely. ~~~~ Bluetooth ~~~~ The bluetooth handsfree is very impressive, it works a charm, automatically pairing with your phone when you step in the car and allowing you to dial and answer from the sat-nav. WORD OF WARNING. I thought sat-navs would come with free map updates. This doesn't - You can either buy new maps for 69euros, or 2 years of new map updates for 99euros using Navigon FreshMaps. These are proper maps from the people that make sat-nav maps. TomTom have a user-based update map feature, where users can add speed cameras, new roads etc - which can be unreliable - but it is free! Not only that, but the new maps are 2.1GB, and it only has a 2GB SD disk - This may be 4GB now in new ones but I now have to pay £10 for a 4GB SD disk. The software that comes with it is called Navigon Fresh, this can ...

Navigon 8110: a good design but very poor support

Advantages: Good design
Disadvantages: Very bad support

I purchased the Navigon 8110 about a month ago. From the start it wasn't doing what it was supposed to do: navigating. No gps reception, no gps receiver icon on the screen. So, after two days of trying and re-trying I tried to call the support desk. For about 5 times (each time 10 minutes waiting) no luck, the sixth time I called the sales dept. and within 3 seconds the phone was picked up! The lady promised me to send me the details for sending the device to the company for a repair. I wanted a new device because in this one I had no faith anymore. Next day: no mail received. Once again I called the support dept, this time it took me 3 times; and this time I was more lucky. The device was picked up the same day. After 2 weeks I received the same device. Now I had a gps icon on the screen, and after a hard reset it was functioning ...

Navigon 2100 Max Review

Advantages: Great route finding, planning, Has lots of great features, and modes.
Disadvantages: None

I recently purchased the Navigon 2100 Max and I was very impressed overall with the performance and quality of the unit. The graphics are nice and easy to see and read and the voice is very nice too. It correctly calculated my route from A to B and gave accurate times for arrival which was very helpful. You could select different modes depending upon what type of car you were driving (e.g standard, slow car, fast car) or even select pedestrian mode (possibly for use whilst walking around with the unit). The map graphics are really good (and can even include speed limit signs depending on the road you are driving in). You can also select between day and night modes which is a nice feature. Overall, I was very impressed with the unit and I thought it was definately worth the money! ...
